In response to indication that a comment is to be entered, the user interface to the parent document allows the user to enter content to be included in the comment. In response to indication that the entered comment should be saved, the system operates to capture the comment contents and store it into a newly created comment document associated with the parent document. After a comment document has been created, its contents are presented through a predetermined display region within the user interface to the parent document.

Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying, assessing and clearing conflicts of interest are described herein. Consistent with some embodiments, a conflicts management system receives a conflict search request, and processes the request utilizing a risk matrix that encompass and represents the risk tolerance or risk profile of a law firm. The risk matrix maps certain request types to different search queries and rules that are to be evaluated for a given request type. Based on the execution of the queries and the rules for the request, a score is assigned to a party, such that the score represents the level of risk that would be undertaken if the party was engaged as a client.

The processor adapts a detail level of a presentation of at least one of text and an image associated with the requested multimedia data, depending on markup tags associated with the multimedia data and a frequency of commands indicating a speed at which the multimedia preview system is to browse through the at least one of the text and the image, such that the detail level of the presentation of the at least one of the text and the image is higher when the speed is lower and vice versa, and changes a layout of the at least one of the text and the image depending on the speed.

Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a system that allows multiple users operating a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), receiving information from a server via a cellular phone, to access the Internet or the World Wide Web (WWW), view and interact with these images remotely on a display screen. The invention relates to the priority in which packets or blocks of information are transferred to and displayed on the screen of the PDA device. The invention further relates to various methods to reduce the amount of data sent to the PDA for back pages or previously viewed web pages, stored in the cache memory of the PDA and also mirrored on the server's memory. Various algorithms may be used by the server to determine what information is to be removed from the PDA's cache memory, as it approaches its full capacity.

Transfer of display data corresponding to an updated user interface can occur via a memory shared between an agent server and an agent client in a terminal server environment. Access to the shared memory can be synchronized via token passing or other operation to prevent simultaneous access to the shared memory. Token sharing and synchronized input/output can be performed using FIFOs, sockets, files, semaphores and the like, allowing communications between the agent server and agent client communications to adapt to different operating system architecture.

Abstract: In a program information broadcasting system, it is aimed to minimize time for retrieval of program by viewers in operating an electronic program guide or time for waiting when applying for subscription. As a program information broadcasting system, program elements constituting a broadcasting program are divided into a plurality of items and are turned to data at a center, and a master data 21 of a program information to recognize the program is prepared. From the data constituting the master data, minimal necessary items for preparation of a program table are extracted, and a program basic information 22 is prepared.
