  • Patent number: 4918786
Abstract: A hinge having at least three leaves pivotally joined along edges of the leaves and adapted for attachment to two members to be pivotally connected with at least one member secured to a pair of the leaves which are mutally inclined in such a way that each leaf of the pair resists bending of the other leaf of the pair. A present best mode embodiment of the hinge has four leaves and is designed primarily for use on so-called ultralight airplanes as aileron, rudder, and elevator hinges which are immune to fatigue stress failure. Another hinge embodiment is designed for use as a door hinge and has only three leaves.

  • Patent number: 4912808
Abstract: An assist strap is provided for attachment within spaced apart apertures on a vehicle body. The strap has mounting portions at the end thereof which space the strap from the vehicle body. Attaching legs are provided on each of the mounting portions and are adapted to extend through the apertures, each of the attaching legs having a foot at the end thereof projecting toward the opposite end of the strap so that the space between the feet is less than the spacing between the spaced apart apertures. The strap is constructed to permit flexure of the strap inwardly toward the body so that the feet of the attaching legs spread further apart than the spaced apart apertures of the body to permit insertion of the feet into the apertures whereby subsequent return of the strap to the normal spaced relation from the body causes the feet to engage with the body and thereby attach the assist strap on the body without the need for fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4908907
Abstract: A hinge includes a hinge arm adapted to be snapped onto a mounting plate. The front of the hinge arm is directly or by an intermediate member indirectly engageable into the mounting plate, and the rear of the hinge arm has a tilting lever at which a hook member is formed by which the tilting lever is lockable to the mounting plate. When a door is mounted to the body of an article of furniture, the hinge arm can be engaged into the mounting plate and then fastened thereto simply by applying pressure. Canting of the hinge arm at the mounting plate is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4887760
Abstract: The bonding sheet of the present invention comprises a substrate having an opening, and a low-melting point bonding metal which closes the opening or is arranged on the peripheral portion of the opening, to project in the opening. According to a bonding sheet of the present invention, a low-melting point bonding metal is interposed between a conductor pattern of a substrate and electrode terminals of an electronic component, and is bonded by thermocompression at a low temperature without melting the low-melting point bonding metal, so that bonding of a large number of electrode terminals can be completed by a single bonding operation.

  • Patent number: 4881340
Abstract: The present invention generally concerns a fishing lure having a hollow body comprising inner and outer tubular members with an annular space therebetween. A plurality of attachment points permit the fishing lure to be drawn through water in a variety of orientations. In addition, modular attachment elements cooperate with the basic lure to comprise a clip-on system of members which may be assembled in selected configurations, resulting in resemblance to different baits. Light variously transmitted through the outer tubular member may be reflected by an inner tubular member to enhance alluring effects. Additionally, various openings in communication with the annular space permits transmission of air bubbles and water therethrough, for further enhanced alluring effects.

  • Patent number: 4881298
Abstract: First and second hinge leaves are mounted respectively on the body and the door with one hinge leaf having a pivot pin and the other hinge having a hinge aperture adapted to engage the pivot pin to establish a door hinge pivot axis. The first and second leaves have flanges which interengage one another through the normal range of pivoting movement of the door between open and closed position so as to maintain the engagement between the hinge aperture and the pivot pin. The door is separable from the body by pivoting the door beyond the range of normal pivoting movement to disengage the bearing portions of the hinge leaves from one another and then lifting the door axially of the hinge pin axis to disengage the hinge aperture and the pivot pin. The separable door hinge also includes an offset auxiliary pivot axis provided by an alignment abutment on one of the hinge leaves axis and an alignment notch provided on the other of the hinge leaves.
