  • Publication number: 20210054835
Abstract: A load sense pump can be used as a backup for a pressure-compensated pump in a wellbore operation. A pumping system can include a first pump, a second pump, a check valve, and a directional control valve. The first pump, which can be a load sense pump, can be used to provide pressure to a first hydraulic load. The second pump, which can be a pressure-compensated pump, can be used to provide pressure to a second hydraulic load. The directional control valve can be controllable to cause the first pump to change operation to provide pressure to the first hydraulic load and through the check valve to the second hydraulic load.

  • Patent number: 10876881
Abstract: A valve of a first container is opened to remove fluid into a second container, where the output of the first container is above a maximum fluid level of the second container. The valve of the first container is closed based on a sensor indicating that a fluid level in the first container is at a first fluid level. A pump pumps the fluid from the second container to the first container via a flow meter. An indication is received that causes the pump to stop pumping based on the indication. An amount of fluid pumped into the first container is determined based on the first fluid level and a second fluid level indicated by the sensor. An indication of total fluid volume measured by the flow meter is compared to the amount of fluid pumped. An indication of accuracy of the flow meter is output based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20200055548
Abstract: Systems and methods for transporting small, dense cargo over roadways via a specialized transportation trailer are provided. The disclosed transportation trailer includes a space frame including a lower central portion designed to directly receive and support the cargo that is being carried by the trailer, as well as an upper portion that extends above the height of the cargo. The space frame also includes lower side portions that extend longitudinally in opposite directions from the lower central portion to connect the space frame to the wheels and trailer hookup of the transportation trailer. The space frame may further include a truss structure formed between the lower central portion and the upper portion to increase the rigidity of the trailer. The transportation trailer is designed to minimize the height of the cargo's center of gravity, increase trailer rigidity, increase cargo capacity, and maximize ground clearance compared to existing trailer designs.

  • Publication number: 20200048020
Abstract: Controlling the dust emissions from the discharge of bulk materials from a container provides many benefits. A support structure may include a plurality of outlets or chutes for discharging the bulk material. A dust control damper coupled to the outlets not currently in use for the discharge of bulk material may prevent dust from escaping into the surrounding air. The dust control dampers may automatically transition between a closed position and an open position. A flexibly collapsible shroud may also be coupled to a discharge gate of a container. The shroud may expand to seal against the outlet when bulk material is discharge. A vacuum system at or near an outlet may reclaim any dust that escapes during discharge of the bulk material.

  • Patent number: 10544352
Abstract: Methods including mixing a treatment fluid slurry in a storage tank, the treatment fluid slurry comprising an insulative base fluid, an ambient-reactive subterranean formation additive (ARA), wherein the ARA reacts at an ambient temperature, the reaction resulting in surface modification of the ARA, degradation of the ARA, or a combination of surface modification and degradation of the ARA, and wherein the insulative base fluid maintains the treatment fluid slurry at a temperature different from the ambient temperature to prevent the ARA from reacting; and introducing the treatment fluid slurry into a subterranean formation.

  • Publication number: 20190276225
Abstract: Controlling the dust emissions from the discharge of bulk materials from a container provides many benefits. A container engages a support structure that includes a frame. The frame includes a dust control enclosure coupled to an outlet or a hopper at the top of the frame and the container or a discharge gate of the container. The dust control enclosure comprises a collapsible and flexible material so that a tight seal is formed between the container and the hopper or the outlet of the frame. Dust from the discharged of the bulk material from the container is contained within the support structure. A dust control panel may also be disposed at the top of the frame to prevent any dust from migrating through the frame. The container may comprise a plurality of dust enclosure panels to further prevent the escape of dust during discharge of the bulk material.

  • Publication number: 20190277129
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for detecting the beginning of a flush volume. A blended fluid is output by a fluid blending apparatus and pumped into a wellbore. The blended fluid transitions from a first composition to a second composition. A blending signal comprising time-varying data relating to characteristics of the blending apparatus or measured from sensors associated with the blending apparatus is received. Based on a first portion of the blending signal corresponding to the first composition, a calibration profile is generated. Based on the calibration profile and a second portion of the blending signal corresponding to the second composition, a transition indicator corresponding to a change in the blended fluid from the first composition to the second composition is determined. Based on the transition indicator, a flush signal indicating the beginning of a flush volume being output by the blending apparatus and pumped into the wellbore is generated.
