  • Patent number: 10102335
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods for providing improvements in genome-scale metabolic models are described. The methods identify and optimize metabolic flux states that minimize the cost of enzyme production while maximizing a desired cellular phenotype. The computer-implemented methods may maximize cellular phenotypes such as growth (biomass) or production of a metabolite, such as a commercially valuable chemical compound, through the selection of metabolic pathways that maximize these phenotypes while minimizing metabolic costs associated with production of the proteomic constituents of individual metabolic pathways. The computer implemented methods may be useful for computationally designing microbial strains for the production of chemicals.

  • Publication number: 20170295934
Abstract: A reclinable chair is provided which has a seat rest, a backrest; a footrest; two side arm portions; and a reclining mechanism arranged to move at least one of the backrest and the footrest from a substantially upright position into a reclined position. The reclining mechanism is mounted to the side arm portions. The reclining mechanism includes an extendable member which acts on a footrest support to move the footrest from a substantially upright position to a reclined position. A linkage bar may be provided to connect the footrest support to a backrest support so that a single driving mechanism causes movement of the footrest into the reclined position and simultaneously causes movement of the backrest into a reclined position. Alternatively, the linkage bar may be omitted so that only the footrest is reclinable.

  • Publication number: 20170030176
Abstract: A method and system for chemical transportation, storage, and dispensation, which provides a base with ISO mounts for enabling a ISO tank, van container, screw conveyor, or the like to be carried thereon. The base accommodates either or both of “roll off” or “hooklift hoist” technologies to allow easy loading and unloading. A first end of the base is carried by one or more rollers, and the underside is structured to allow rolling of the base on the bed or rack of the transport vehicle. After unloading the base with its ISO cargo, the transport vehicle leaves the well site and is free to retrieve another ISO tank or container as appropriate, thereby lowering the tractor-trailer capital requirements to support fracturing operations. Weigh scales allow the weight of the ISO container to be determined to allow the operator to monitor the inventory of chemicals as they are used.
