  • Publication number: 20110315413
Abstract: A multi-functional tool is provided including a drive unit and one or more operating members. Each operating member includes a plurality of coupling features configured to be coupled with a plurality of drive unit coupling features. The interaction between the drive unit coupling features and the coupling features of the operating member determines the type of planar motion in which the operating member moves relative to the drive unit when the multi-functional tool is in operation. This motion may be orbital, sagittal, or reciprocal. The motion provided by the drive unit to an operating member may be changed by replacing one operating member coupled to the drive unit with another, different operating member. In some exemplary embodiments, at least three operating member are provided and each operating member is configured to be moved with one of orbital, sagittal, or reciprocal motion.

  • Patent number: 8042178
Abstract: An authenticated secure network communication link is established between an alert message generating computer 2 and a destination data processing system 6. The alert message sent specifies a risk threat level and a suggested countermeasure amongst other data. The destination computer 6 automatically responds to the alert message as controlled by its local response configuration parameters to trigger security actions of one or more security mechanisms, such as malware scanners, firewall scanners, security policy managers and the like.

  • Publication number: 20110217129
Abstract: Pneumatic particulate material fill systems and methods are disclosed. A particulate material fill system includes a cyclone separator having an inlet adapted to receive pneumatically conveyed particulate material. The cyclone separator has a first outlet adapted to vent air and a second outlet adapted to discharge solids. The particulate material fill system includes a tank adapted to receive solids discharged from the cyclone separator via the second outlet. The tank is adapted for use at atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 7900254
Abstract: A technique for identifying reply mailer computer program viruses detects whether a reply message is generated in less than a threshold reply time and whether or not the reply message includes an attachment. The generation of a reply message in less than a threshold reply time and including an attachment is deemed indicative of an infected reply message and accordingly that message will be quarantined, deleted, disinfected or the like. The mail server using the present technique maintains a temporary log of email messages sent indicating the sender, the recipient, and the time of sending. This log is used to identify replies and determine whether or not those replies have been received in less than the reply threshold time.

  • Publication number: 20110039729
Abstract: The present invention relates to a prokaryotic host cell comprising eukaryotic glycosyltransferase activity, where the eukaryotic glycosyltransferase activity is eukaryotic dolichyl-linked UDP-GlcNAc transferase activity and eukaryotic mannosyl-transferase activity. Also disclosed is a method of producing a glycosylated protein by providing a prokaryotic host cell comprising the eukaryotic glycosyltransferase activity and culturing the prokaryotic host cell under conditions effective to produce a glycosylated protein. Another aspect of the present invention pertains to a method for screening bacteria or bacteriophages by expressing one or more glycans on the surface of a bacteria, attaching a label on the one or more glycans on the surface of the bacteria or on the surface of a bacteriophage derived from the bacteria, and analyzing the label in a high-throughput format.

  • Patent number: 7134140
Abstract: A token based system for authenticating a client computer when it connects to a network. An address is requested from a server connected to the network. Provision of the address by the server triggers the server to look for a token on the client computer. If no token is found steps, such as revoking the address, can be taken. This enables a system administrator to control what machines can connect to the network, for example, it may allow only those having specified anti-virus software.

  • Publication number: 20060021003
Abstract: A full-featured authentication framework is provided that allows for the dynamic selection of authentication modalities based on need and/or environment. The framework comprises a server responsible for handling requests for data and services from the other components, a logon module, a user administration tool and a system administration tool. The authentication framework may be used in a multi-biometric environment or one that contains a combination of any other authentication techniques. The system is built on a BioAPI framework and uses common data security architecture. A primary feature of the system of the present invention is the facilitation of the installation of authentication modalities, possibly from numerous vendors, thereby allowing for plug-and-play of new biometric functionality and additional core data security modules with no extra programming effort.

  • Publication number: 20050146180
Abstract: A seating system is provided including a beam for supporting seats, wherein the seats are individually mounted to the beam at any selected longitudinal position along the beam. The system facilitates seat positioning and repositioning in a manner that optimizes seating adaptability and ease of installation. The beam preferably includes integral first and second track portions. The first track portion includes a channel that receives bracket-mounted connectors by which the beam is fixed relative to the ground. Each of the seats has at least one seat support with a clamp portion that secures to the second track portion of the beam, free from the channel to avoid interfering with the connectors, regardless of the point at which the support is clamped to the beam. The second track portion is preferably shaped to include a rear overhang and front overhang defining oppositely directed undercut surfaces on which the seat support is securely mounted.
