  • Publication number: 20050129042
Abstract: A system for controlling memory for storage of content includes a network entitiy, such as a terminal or a content source. The network entity includes a download manager capable of receiving a selection of at least one piece of content. The download manager is also capable of reserving at least a portion of a storage capacity of memory of a terminal for at least one of the selected piece(s) of content such that the terminal can thereafter receive and store the selected piece(s) of content into the reserved storage capacity. To facilitate reserving storage capacity, the selected piece(s) of content and/or content stored in memory of the terminal includes a set of one or more parameters, such as an expiration time, a deletion priority value and/or a download priority value.

  • Publication number: 20050102385
Abstract: A system for controlling storage of content in memory includes a network entitiy, such as a digital broadcast transmitter, a digital broadcast receiver or a terminal. The network entity includes an expiration control application capable of receiving a status of a at least one piece of content stored in memory of a terminal. Each piece of content is associated with at least one parameter including at least a client expiration time and/or a deletion priority value. Based upon the status and the associated parameter(s), then, the expiration control application can control storage of content in memory of the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050097053
Abstract: A system for protecting content includes a terminal capable of receiving content and storing the content in memory. The system also includes a first network entity capable of adding padding data to the received content, where the content and padding data form aggregate content having a size greater than a size of the content. Alternatively, the first network entity can modify a file allocation table entry of content stored by the terminal to thereby increase a perceived size of the content. A second network entity of the system is capable of accessing the aggregate content, and thereafter extracting the received content from the aggregate content upon request for the received content. Alternatively, the second network entity can extract the file allocation table entry of the received content from the modified file allocation table entry, and thereafter assemble the received content from the file allocation table entry of the received content.

  • Publication number: 20050089022
Abstract: A system for controlling a flow of content includes a terminal and a network entity. The terminal is capable of sending a content status including terminal status information having a listing of one or more pieces of content stored in a memory of the terminal. The network entity includes a content flow manager that is capable of receiving the terminal status information. Then, based upon the terminal status information, the content flow manager can control the flow of content to the terminal. More particuarly, for example, the content flow manager can be capable of controlling the terminal to delete at least one piece of content from a memory of the terminal, and/or download at least one piece of content from a source of content.

  • Publication number: 20050033860
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, a network device (2), and a terminal device (1) for controlling the activation of packet data protocol context in a network supporting packet switched transmission of data units. A push information element HSS Push IE is added to a data base (4?) containing information to control push services. This push information element Push IE is sent to a network device (2) with a support node functionality. This push information element is evaluated. Thus, network requested context activation procedures is controlled to thereby reduce the number of unnecessary context activations.

  • Publication number: 20050014500
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for locating a mobile terminal addressed in a location service request by an overlay identity. A database is accessed to obtain a first routing information of the mobile terminal based on the overlay identity, and the first routing information is then used to access a sub-scriber database in order to derive a second routing information and a cellular identity of the mobile terminal, based on which a location service of the cellular network is initiated. Thereby, a LCS clients of the overlay system (e.g. IMS) can be supported in current LCS services to enhance their functionality.

  • Patent number: 6751472
Abstract: A method controls the operation of a mobile station, the operation including camping which modellable as a number of states (S1 to 4) with predetermined state transitions (S12-S34) between them. Each one of the states corresponds to a set of locally varying features which the mobile station currently supports. The features include a first feature indicating whether the mobile station is in circuit-switched mode or packet switched mode, and a second feature indicating whether or not the mobile station is in localized service area (LSA) model. For all combinations of the first and second features there is a corresponding state (S1 to S4), and for each one of these states there are two originating state transitions and two terminating state transitions, each one of the originating state transitions corresponding to a change in the respective feature.

  • Publication number: 20040058689
Abstract: The present invention concerns an integration construction between a steam boiler provided with a combustion chamber and a steam turbine. The steam is conducted from the steam boiler (10) along a connector to the steam turbine (11) for rotating an electric generator (K) producing electricity. The supply water circulated via the steam boiler (10) is vaporized in a vaporizer (190) located in the steam boiler (10) and superheated in a superheater (120). The supply water is conducted into the boiler through an economizer (20) acting as a heat exchanger, where heat is transferred from the flue gases of the boiler into the supply water. The economizer (20) is provided with at least two sections, comprising at least one first economizer section (20a1) and at least one second economizer section (20a2).

  • Publication number: 20040040044
Abstract: A method of transmitting multimedia content from a network content element to a network data distribution element further distributes content within a mobile telecommunications network, The method includes providing the multimedia content to the network content element, then sending the multimedia content from the content element, and receiving it in the data distribution element. The data distribution element then determines one or more control parameters based on the multimedia content. One or more content channels are established based upon the control parameters.

  • Publication number: 20030186710
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for providing information about stations of a communication system, and more particularly information of stations (1) that are located within a defined area (5). A search can be triggered in a location information service for information concerning wireless stations within the defined area. At least one such access entity (20, 21, 23, 24) of the communication system is selected that covers partially or entirely the defined area. A location information request is subsequently generated and broadcast in the selected access entities. A response including information concerning wireless stations within the defined area is generated and signalled to the location information service. According to another aspect the system is adapted to provide services for those stations only that have been determined to be located within the defined area.

  • Patent number: 6501957
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and network element for forwarding a multicast message received from an external packet data network (PDN) to subscribers (MS) of a packet radio network, wherein a subscriber-specific information defining multicast messages to be received by the subscribers is stored in a network element (GGSN) of the packet radio network. Based on this subscriber-specific information, a point to point connection is established between the multicast content provider of the multicast message and a subscriber having joined the corresponding multicast group. The subscriber may request a list of available multicast groups from the network element and may inform the network element of the multicast messages he wants to listen to by using a point to point context activation. Thus, the network element which may be a gateway GPRS support node plays an arbitrator role for multicast messages. Thereby, only minor changes of standard network elements are required.
