  • Patent number: 7355938
Abstract: A timing recovery method samples, equalizes and detects a signal reproduced from a recording medium and to output a detection signal, controls sampling positions based on a phase error between the equalized signal and the detection signal, and obtains likelihood information which is related to a bit having a probability of error which exceeds a predetermined value, based on the equalized signal. The control of the sampling positions is suppressed during a time which is based on the likelihood information.

  • Publication number: 20080010511
Abstract: It is possible to suppress a CPU showing signs of unstable operation before the OS starts. A micro program acquires error CPU information (which cannot be recognized directly by the micro program) from the service processor immediately before the termination of the micro program and making a request for suppression of the CPU showing signs of unstable operation according to the acquired error CPU information. The service processor suppresses the CPU showing signs of unstable operation before the OS starts.

  • Patent number: 7054088
Abstract: A timing recovery unit detects a phase offset and a frequency offset from a head area of reproduction data and initially corrects them. The timing recovery unit stores data in which a head reproduction signal has been made to be discrete by a fixed clock into a buffer. A phase offset detector detects the phase offset from the data head area in parallel with the operation for writing the data into the buffer. At the same time, a frequency offset detector detects the frequency offset from the data head area in parallel with the operation for writing the data into the buffer. A correction value of the detected phase offset and a correction value of the detected frequency offset are initially set into a digital PLL. While the data is read out from the buffer, a frequency lead-in and a phase lead-in are executed in the head area.

  • Publication number: 20040187066
Abstract: An ECC determining unit determines whether an error detected by using an ECC has been corrected. When the detected error has not been corrected, an equalizer output sequence transfer unit transfers an equalizer output sequence yk stored in an equalizer output sequence storage unit to a transfer data storage unit in a hard disk controller, so that a high-performance decoding unit (software) performs repetitive decoding, using the transferred equalizer output sequence yk.

  • Publication number: 20020121998
Abstract: An A/D converter includes an analog/digital conversion section which converts a measured value obtained by measuring an object to be measured from analog data to digital data, a set value storage section which stores a set value, and a comparison section which compares the set value stored in the set value storage section and the measured value which is converted to the digital data by the analog/digital conversion section. A comparison result of the comparison section is a criterion for generating an interrupt signal which is inputted to a CPU in order to cause the CPU to perform processing based on the measured value.

  • Patent number: 5885580
Abstract: A vaccine containing Mycobacterium bovis BCG which secretes a fusion protein to be obtained by inserting a foreign antigen peptide into the molecular surface of a secretory protein, a carrier, having a signal peptide. BCG constituting the present invention secretes a fusion protein to be obtained by inserting a foreign antigen peptide into the molecular surface of an .alpha.-antigen derived from mycobacteria. Said fusion protein has significantly increased antigenicity and immunogenicity. Therefore, when it is inoculated into animals, it is efficiently recognized by B cells which recognize said antigen, thereby effectively inducing the production of an antibody to said antigen. When said BCG itself is inoculated into animals, it continuously secretes said fusion protein in the bodies of the animals while continuously propagating therein. Therefore, said BCG is an extremely useful vaccine.

  • Patent number: 5793945
Abstract: A device for the initial-diagnosing of processors is provided with a processor module, a storage unit, an address allocation unit and a diagnostic execution unit. The processor module has a processor and a cache storage unit. The storage unit stores an initial diagnostic setting program which diagnoses the processor and the cache storage unit. The address allocation unit allocates the addresses of the processor by making the addresses of the processor correspond to the addresses of the cache storage unit so that the cache storage unit is accessed by the processor. The diagnostic execution unit reads the initial diagnostic setting program stored in the storage unit into the addresses of the cache storage unit allocated by the address allocation unit, and executes the initial diagnostic setting program.
