  • Patent number: 11290362
Abstract: Diagnostic test results are obtained in respect of local area networks (LANs), the LANs having user-devices located therein having interfaces and being operable to communicate via those interfaces and via a LAN gateway device with remote devices in a communications network outside their respective LANs. A method comprises comparing performance measures obtained in respect of communication flows with a performance threshold whereby to identify communication flows whose performance measures are indicative of performance below a predetermined level, and for any such communication flows, obtaining a diagnosis in respect of the LAN in question in dependence on a comparison of the performance measure obtained in respect of the identified communication flow and performance measures obtained in respect of other communication flows, the diagnosis being obtained in dependence on respective portability levels and network interface types determined in respect of the user-devices involved in said communication flows.

  • Patent number: 11268966
Abstract: Methods for identifying metabolic signatures in blood plasma which are unique to autism are described herein. Samples are analyzed using multiple chromatographic-mass spectrometry-based techniques to orthogonally measure a broad range of small molecular weight metabolites differentially produced in autistic patient samples versus non-autistic control samples. These individual metabolites or a panel of such metabolites serve as metabolic signatures of autism. Such metabolic signatures are used in diagnostic methods to accurately identify individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

  • Publication number: 20220064122
Abstract: Substituted analogs of dextromethorphan (DM) are disclosed, which are shown to have substantial binding affinity at both NMDA and sigma-1 receptors, and which are degraded by human liver enzymes more slowly than dextromethorphan. The analogs are useful as alternatives to dextromethorphan, and can provide the same benefits without requiring co-administration of a cytochrome P-450 enzyme inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 11249177
Abstract: A transceiver assembly is configured to detect an object. The transceiver assembly includes a first transmit antenna array configured to transmit a first signal at a first frequency, a second transmit antenna array configured to transmit a second signal at a second frequency that differs from the first frequency, and a receive antenna array configured to receive a third signal at a third frequency that is a difference between the first frequency and the second frequency. The transceiver assembly detects the object in response to reception of the third signal by the receive antenna array.

  • Patent number: 11246840
Abstract: An abuse deterrent and misuse deterrent transdermal patch comprising aversive agents incorporated in the backing layer of the patch. The aversive agents can exhibit biphasic or sustained kinetics of release with an immediate portion released rapidly and an extended portion released in a prolonged manner when exposed to a dissolution medium. The prolonged aversive agent release provides deterrence against extraction of drug from fresh and used patches and serves to prevent accidental misuse of used patches by children. The abuse deterrent and misuse deterrent patch systems can be used for transdermal delivery of therapeutically active agents and particularly those drugs that are highly prone to abuse such as opiate and opioid analgesics and stimulants.

  • Patent number: 11230275
Abstract: A piston configured for use in a brake system is disclosed. The piston can comprise: a body; and a footing; the footing positioned adjacent an end of the body, and having a recess that receives a central portion of the end; during operation of the brake system, the footing extends along a brake pad, and is configured to exert force on the brake pad during actuation of the disk brake system; and the footing having a face configured to contact the brake pad, the face having a length and a width, wherein the length is longer than an outside width of the body, and the length is greater than the width, and/or the face having a cross-sectional area normal to a direction of travel of the piston that is larger than a cross-sectional area of the piston body that is normal to the direction of travel of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20210379710
Abstract: A machining tool assembly is provided for machining a blank to form a firearm lower receiver. The assembly includes a pair of side plates positionable on opposed sides of the blank to capture the blank therebetween. A template plate having a template aperture is adapted to be removeably attachable to the side plates. The template aperture is aligned with a top surface of the blank and is adapted for machining a cavity within the blank having a peripheral contour complimentary to a peripheral contour of the template aperture. A centering mechanism is adapted to be removeably attachable to the template plate, with the centering mechanism including an opening aligned with a corresponding void formed on the blank to align the blank with the template plate.

  • Publication number: 20210339030
Abstract: An alert system detects when an auditory prosthesis recipient is wearing her sound processor. When the processor is not worn, the alert system signals a secondary device, such as an accessory, to provide some other form of tactile stimulation to allow the recipient to be made aware of certain auditory stimuli she is not receiving via the auditory prosthesis. Thus, the alert system can effectively “hear” for the recipient. Since many auditory prosthesis recipients are, for all practical purposes, completely deaf without their external sound processors attached and operational, such an alert system increases the recipient's safety, convenience, and quality of life.

  • Patent number: 11130582
Abstract: Systems and methods of heat management of turbine engines including turbofans, turboprops and turboshafts and fan driven propulsion systems. The propulsion system may comprise a fan, nacelle, an electrical or mechanical heat source and a cooling system consisting of heat exchangers in the fan duct and on the nacelle and coolant pumps. The heat source can be a motor or a generator or turbine machinery or accessories rotationally coupled to rotating shafts. The heat management system transfers heat to the air in the fan flow path to provide additional fan thrust. The heat management system also transfers heat to structural members in the gas flow path that require anti-icing.

  • Publication number: 20210281717
Abstract: A method and system for synchronizing an audio signal and a video signal includes a source device receiving an audio-video signal comprising the audio signal and the video signal. The video signal has a video time stamp. The source device communicates the audio signal from the source device to a first sink device through a wireless network with a second time stamp and communicates the video signal to the second sink device with the video time stamp. The second sink device generates a synchronization (synch) signal and communicates the synch signal to the first sink device. The first sink device compares the synch signal to the second time stamp, adjusts a relative timing of the playback of the audio signal in response to comparing and generates an audible signal from the audio signal.
