  • Patent number: 11337196
Abstract: A communication apparatus has a receiver and a decoder. The receiver receives a control signal including first downlink control information and second downlink control information, and receives decoding area information that indicates whether the extended Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) should be decoded for each of a plurality of terminal apparatuses. The decoder decodes each of a plurality of first mapping candidates in the PDCCH area or decodes each of the plurality of first mapping candidates in the PDCCH area and each of the plurality of second mapping candidates in the extended PDCCH. A number of the second mapping candidates included in the user-specific search space equals to or is more than a number of the first mapping candidates included in the common search space.

  • Publication number: 20220104186
Abstract: This invention concerns concepts for signaling resource allocation information to a terminal that indicates to the terminal assigned resources for the terminal. The terminal can receives downlink control information (DCI), which comprises a field for indicating the resource allocation information of the terminal. This resource assignment field within the DCI has a predetermined number of bits. The terminal can determines its assigned resource allocation information from the content of the received DCI, even though the bit size of the resource allocation field in the received DCI is insufficient to represent all allowed resource allocations. According to an embodiment, the received bits that are signaled to the terminal in the DCI represent predetermined bits of the resource allocation information. All remaining one or more bits of the resource allocation information that are not included in the field of the received DCI are set to predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 11251899
Abstract: An object of this disclosure is to improve the channel estimation accuracy without degradation of transmission quality. Control section 101 configures a predefined number of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) for terminal 200 configured to perform repetition of an uplink signal over multiple subframes, when a coverage enhancement level corresponding to the number of the multiple subframes is smaller than a determined value, and configures, for the terminal, a number of DMRSs obtained by adding a predetermined number of DMRSs to the predefined number, when the terminal applies the repetition and the coverage enhancement level is equal to or larger than the determined value, the uplink signal being formed by time-multiplexing a data symbol with a DMRS in one subframe. Receiving section 110 receives the uplink signal including the configured number of DMRSs and transmitted from the terminal. Channel estimation section 115 performs channel estimation using the DMRS included in the received uplink signal.

  • Patent number: 11252708
Abstract: The present invention relates to reporting the channel state information in a communication system. The channel state information is reported from the user terminal to a base station. Accordingly, the user terminal determines a first channel state information value from a first set of values (levels) and a second channel state information value from another set of values, preferably a larger set of values. Then a difference or other relative measure is calculated between the first and the second channel state information value and transmitted to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11240870
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods for improving the DRX operation of a UE by introducing an additional DRX wake-up cycle, which runs in parallel to the short and/or long DRX cycle. The DRX wake-up cycle defines time intervals after which the UE starts monitoring the PDCCH for a wake-up duration of time; the UE does not perform any other operation during the wake-up duration apart from monitoring the PDCCH. The time intervals of the wake-up cycle between the wake-up durations are preferably shorter than the one of the DRX long cycle, and may have the same or a shorter length than the ones of the DRX short cycle. The wake-up duration may be as long as the on-duration of the DRX short/long cycle, or may be preferably much shorter, such as only one or a few subframes.
