  • Publication number: 20190312923
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for identifying a source of quality degradation for a media call flowing in a first direction and a second direction between a mobile-originating user equipment (UE) and a mobile-terminating (MT) UE are presented. In an example method, a network node obtains a set of multiple rules specified respectively for multiple candidate sources of quality degradation for the media call in the first direction. These rules indicate whether a particular candidate source is an actual source of quality degradation based on values of certain key performance indicators (KPIs). The network node identifies, from among the multiple candidate sources of quality degradation, one or more sources of quality degradation by evaluating one or more rules from the set of multiple rules.

  • Publication number: 20190045352
Abstract: Handling of UE capability information in a mobile telecommunications network wherein an eNodeB receives information regarding the UE capability information from the UE and stores the information. The eNodeB sends the UE capability information to the EPC, i.e., to an MME, which receives and stores the UE capability information. When the UE transits from idle to active state, does an initial attach, or when a part of the UE capabilities have changed, it sends a message to the eNodeB regarding the update. The eNodeB forwards the message to the MME, which sends a response associated with the previously stored UE capability information to the eNodeB. The eNodeB decides whether the UE capabilities stored in the MME is up-to-date based on the message from the UE and the response from the MME. If the UE holds updated UE capabilities the eNodeB can request updated UE capability information from the UE.

  • Patent number: 9888400
Abstract: A method in a radio network node is disclosed for handling positioning data in a radio communications network, which radio network node serves a user equipment in a cell. The radio network node obtains positioning data from the user equipment, which positioning data is associated with a positioning measurement for positioning the user equipment. The radio network node associates the obtained positioning data with an on-going trace session of the user equipment. The radio network node then sends a trace record to a network management node, which trace record includes information associated with the positioning data.

  • Patent number: 9848374
Abstract: Network services exchange data packets with mobile terminals wirelessly connected to a network. The network receives reports from a subset of the mobile terminals. The reports indicate network services used by the reporting mobile terminals. Various corresponding methods include the network associating one or more first data packets with one of the network services based on the reports. The first data packets originate from, or are addressed to, the reporting mobile terminals. The network derives or adapts, based on data included in the first data packets, one or more rules for identifying the network service based on data included in second data packets. The second data packets are different from the first data packets.
