  • Publication number: 20200204858
Abstract: A network recording cache prioritises delivery of content to a household based on a combination of viewing and recording requests. Content for viewing may be prioritised over content to be recorded. Cached content (e.g., for trick play) for content being viewed may be prioritised over recordings. In this way, the effect of limited bandwidth on the ability of the user to view and record requested content is reduced.

  • Patent number: 10692592
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for synchronizing healthcare data across disparate data centers. Healthcare data from healthcare data sources is received by a collector service that operates in a cloud computing platform. The data is sent to a staging platform associated with a first data center that is hosting the collector service. From here, the data is stored in association with a long-term storage data store associated with the first data center. As well, it is communicated to processing nodes associated with the first data center that subscribe to the data. The staging platform also communicates the data to a staging platform associated with a second data center. This staging platform also stores the data in association with a long-term storage data store located at the second data center and communicates the data to processing nodes located at the second data center that subscribe to the data.

  • Publication number: 20200181038
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of reducing or disproportionating peroxide, comprising combining an organic chalcogenide, an iron salt, and the peroxide in the presence of an additional reductant, which can be the organic chalcogenide. The method can be used to, e.g., prepare alcohols from peroxides and to disproportionate hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.

  • Patent number: 10474708
Abstract: A user interface of an entity-centric knowledge discovery system presents an entity profile including a mix of structured and unstructured data relating to an entity. As a user refines the entity profile based on information gathered from various sources, the changing entity profile can be used as a substantially continuously updating query to search, retrieve, and rank new and pertinent information specifically relevant to the profiled entity. The platform described herein provide an active loop for refining an entity description and searching for additional information in which human input and machine-based algorithms can cooperate to more quickly build a comprehensive description of an entity of interest.

  • Publication number: 20190304579
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for aggregating, partitioning, and storing healthcare data. Healthcare data is collected from various disparate healthcare data sources. The data is aggregated into batches of the same type of data. From here, the data is partitioned according to the data's originating healthcare data source. The aggregated and partitioned healthcare data is then stored in a long term storage data store. This system of storing healthcare data allows for efficient retrieval and processing by computing solutions that need access to batches of healthcare data. The system also reduces costs associated with storing data as duplicate storage is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 10429400
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of testing medications to evaluate authenticity and identify counterfeits. The testing methods employ a reactive system comprising a solvent and an acid. Optionally, the reactive system can also comprise an organometallic agent. The testing methods can provide rapid results verifying the authenticity of an antimalarial medication. Further the test method can provide clear results that can be implemented and interpreted without special training, anywhere in the world. The test methods can offer quantitative and qualitative results. The test methods are based on reactions that yield different colors where the color can indicate the presence of an active ingredient, and the intensity of the color can indicate the concentration of the active ingredient.

  • Patent number: 10298993
Abstract: A user interface for a television display includes a remote control with a touch pad. The user controls movement of an indicator by means of gestures and/or other actions performed on the touch pad. The movement of the indicator may be constrained in a horizontal and/or vertical direction. Actions by the user on the touch pad below a predetermined magnitude may be prevented from causing movement of the indicator.

  • Publication number: 20190061860
Abstract: A recreational system for training and exercising an animal such as a dog includes a mounting assembly and extension assembly which provides a predetermined separation for the recreational system from a user to enable safe operation of a vehicle such as a bicycle. The mounting assembly may position the extension assembly rearwardly from a user so that a user may operate the bicycle while reducing the fear of accidentally contacting the recreational assembly during operation of the vehicle. The extension assembly may rotate within the mounting assembly when attached thereto, and may rotate freely while being secured to the mounting assembly. The extension assembly may optionally be coupled to the mounting assembly on either side of the mounting assembly, providing increased flexibility for operation and use of the recreational system.

  • Patent number: 10079869
Abstract: A system and method that integrates a plurality of media service systems offering different multimedia services such as media storage, syndication, delivery, and billing services. The system and method also provides automated file transcoding. In embodiment, a method of the present invention includes receiving a plurality of physical media files, organizing the plurality of physical media files so that different bit-rates and formats of a single source material are organized into a media database entity, receiving user specified delivery settings for the distribution of the physical media file, generating a release database entity storing the delivery settings of the physical media file, generating an address indicating the storage location of the release, and transmitting the address to a remote computing device.
