  • Patent number: 10695011
Abstract: A collimator includes a panel and one or more blades. The panel defines an exit port, and the one or more blades are held between the panel and an X-ray source to cover at least a portion of the exit port. Each of the one or more blades has a primary blocking member and a secondary blocking member with material densities sufficient to block X-ray radiation. The primary blocking member shapes an X-ray beam emitted from the X-ray source. The secondary blocking member is secured in a fixed position relative to the primary blocking member between the primary blocking member and the panel to block scatter radiation from the X-ray beam from emanating through the exit port. The primary blocking member has a substantially non-planar surface facing toward the X-ray source. The secondary blocking member has a substantially planar surface facing toward the X-ray source.

  • Patent number: 10699721
Abstract: An audio encoder can parse a digital audio signal into a plurality of frames, each frame including a specified number of audio samples, perform a transform of the audio samples of each frame to produce a plurality of frequency-domain coefficients for each frame, partition the plurality of frequency-domain coefficients for each frame into a plurality of bands for each frame, each band having bit data that represents a number of bits allocated for the band, and encode the digital audio signal and difference data to a bit stream (e.g., an encoded digital audio signal). The difference data can produce the full bit data when combined with estimate data that can be computed from data present in the bit stream. The difference data can be compressed to a smaller size than the full bit data, which can reduce the space required in the bit stream.

  • Publication number: 20200149559
Abstract: A method of hydraulic actuation that includes positioning a piston within the chamber of a cylinder body, the chamber including a gas region and a fluidized region, the sidewall of the piston including at least one sealing surface for engaging the sidewall of chamber; and traversing the piston between a portion of the gas region and a portion of the fluidized region, wherein a distance of travel within the chamber that the piston traverses between the gas region and the fluidized region is less than a length of the sidewall of the piston. By increasing the length of the piston sidewall and decreasing the distance of travel for the piston, the method eliminates or substantially reduces fluid carry over in accumulators.

  • Patent number: 10374564
Abstract: Loudness control systems or methods may normalize audio signals to a predetermined loudness level. If the audio signal includes moderate background noise, then the background noise may also be normalized to the target loudness level. Noise signals may be detected using content-versus-noise classification, and a loudness control system or method may be adjusted based on the detection of noise. Noise signals may be detected by signal analysis in the frequency domain or in the time domain. Loudness control systems may also produce undesirable audio effects when content shifts from a high overall loudness level to a lower overall loudness level. Such loudness drops may be detected, and the loudness control system may be adjusted to minimize the undesirable effects during the transition between loudness levels.

  • Patent number: 10284722
Abstract: A system for contact management a server to store, for a campaign, a list of contacts and a contact plan associated with that list of contacts, for each contact, agent notes, and, for the campaign, agent assistance text. The server determines a highest priority opportunity from the list of contacts for an agent associated with the client device as a function of the contact plan, qualifications of the agent, and a current time. The server sends the highest opportunity contact to the client device. The client device receives and presents the contact from the list that was determined to be the highest priority, agent notes for that contact, and agent assistance text. The client device accepts input of results of the agent communicating with the contact and notes regarding the contact, and sends the result and the notes to the server.

  • Patent number: 10251016
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are described herein for adjusting a relationship between dialog and non-dialog signals in an audio program. In an example, information about a long-term dialog balance for an audio program can be received. The long-term loudness dialog balance can indicate a dialog-to-non-dialog loudness relationship of the audio program. A dialog loudness preference can be received, such as from a user, from a database, or from another source. A desired long-term gain or attenuation can be determined according to a difference between the received long-term dialog balance for the audio program and the received dialog balance preference. The long-term gain or attenuation can be applied to at least one of the dialog signal and the non-dialog signal of the audio program to render an audio program that is enhanced according to the loudness preference.

  • Patent number: 10244008
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing communication channels in a communication system that includes communication devices and a communication server. In one embodiment, a communication device may receive an invitation to join a new communication channel, the invitation comprising a universal resource locator (URL) link to a location that contains instructions for joining the new communication channel. The communication device may then launch a companion application in response to activating the URL link where the companion application may be associated with an account administered by a communications server. The companion application may be configured to manage one or more communication devices. A user may select from among the communication devices managed by the companion application to be added to the new communication channel and send, to the communication server, an acceptance to the invitation to join the new communication channel.

  • Patent number: 10219760
Abstract: A gantry of a tomography apparatus has a rotary member that is rotatable around an axis. The rotary member carries at least one component attached to the outside thereto. The component is attached by primary and secondary attachment mechanisms, with only the primary attachment mechanism engaged during normal operation. The secondary attachment mechanism, a T-slot interface in one embodiment, engages for safety and other reasons when the primary attachment mechanism is not functioning properly.
