Patent number: 9930177Abstract: A system for contact management a server to store, for a campaign, a list of contacts and a contact plan associated with that list of contacts, for each contact, agent notes, and, for the campaign, agent assistance text. The server determines a highest priority opportunity from the list of contacts for an agent associated with the client device as a function of the contact plan, qualifications of the agent, and a current time. The server sends the highest opportunity contact to the client device. The client device receives and presents the contact from the list that was determined to be the highest priority, agent notes for that contact, and agent assistance text. The client device accepts input of results of the agent communicating with the contact and notes regarding the contact, and sends the result and the notes to the server.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2016Date of Patent: March 27, 2018Assignee: Dealer WRX, LLCInventors: William Carroll Smith, II, Matthew Brandon Smith, William Carroll Smith, III

Patent number: 9685921Abstract: Loudness control systems or methods may normalize audio signals to a predetermined loudness level. If the audio signal includes moderate background noise, then the background noise may also be normalized to the target loudness level. Noise signals may be detected using content-versus-noise classification, and a loudness control system or method may be adjusted based on the detection of noise. Noise signals may be detected by signal analysis in the frequency domain or in the time domain. Loudness control systems may also produce undesirable audio effects when content shifts from a high overall loudness level to a lower overall loudness level. Such loudness drops may be detected, and the loudness control system may be adjusted to minimize the undesirable effects during the transition between loudness levels.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: DTS, INC.Inventors: Brandon Smith, Aaron Warner, Jeff Thompson

Patent number: 9680883Abstract: Examples are disclosed for responding to voice commands within an existing telephony call between two or more end user communication devices mediated by an IP based communications server. The server is mediating a telephony call among the two or more end user communication devices where each end user communication device has its own communication link to the server. The server may detect a trigger event from one of the end user communication devices. Upon detecting the trigger event, the server may receive voice input over the communication link from the end user communication device that generated the trigger event. The received voice input may be parsed into one or more voice commands. The server may then cause the one or more voice commands to be executed. In other embodiments, much of the intelligence and processing may be carried out on the end user communication device directly.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2016Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: REPUBLIC WIRELESS, INC.Inventors: Jared Kashimba, Sai Rathnam, Matthews Abraham, Andrew Gulino, Charles Marcel Kinard, Aaron Medford, Justin Milam, Travis Morton, Jon Schniepp, Brandon Smith, Shawn Starler, Greg Stephens, Sam Thomas, Matthew Wood

Publication number: 20170127212Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are described herein for adjusting a relationship between dialog and non-dialog signals in an audio program. In an example, information about a long-term dialog balance for an audio program can be received. The long-term loudness dialog balance can indicate a dialog-to-non-dialog loudness relationship of the audio program. A dialog loudness preference can be received, such as from a user, from a database, or from another source. A desired long-term gain or attenuation can be determined according to a difference between the received long-term dialog balance for the audio program and the received dialog balance preference. The long-term gain or attenuation can be applied to at least one of the dialog signal and the non-dialog signal of the audio program to render an audio program that is enhanced according to the loudness preference.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2016Publication date: May 4, 2017Inventors: Jean-Marc Jot, Brandon Smith, Jeffrey K. Thompson, Zoran Fejzo

Publication number: 20160351076Abstract: Devices and methods for teaching and learning mathematical concepts are provided as a mathematics manipulative having a base with a plurality of receptacles, each configured for accepting one of a plurality of blocks in an orientation such that faces of the block are angled with respect to a horizontal bottom surface of the base. Each of the blocks has a plurality of faces, each face having an indication of a value; wherein the plurality of receptacles are sized and arranged such that, when blocks are placed in the receptacles, adjacent blocks define a space configured for accepting another block; and wherein the values indicated on the faces of each of the blocks are combinable with the values indicated on the faces of the other blocks in accordance with a mathematical operation. Games played in accordance with a method of using the mathematics manipulative blocks teach mathematics concepts.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2016Publication date: December 1, 2016Applicant: MIND Research InstituteInventors: Matthew R. Patent number: 9447354Abstract: A process of making a fuel product from spent grain from a beer brewing process. In the brewing process, the grain is pulverized to a particle size whose mean particle size is generally in the range of 0.25 mm to 0.6 mm with less than 1% greater than 2 mm. After the brewing sugars are extracted from the grain, the spent grain is pressed against a filter to reduce moisture below sixty-five percent (65%), and then the grain is dried to further reduce its moisture to less than ten percent (10%). The dried spent grain, after the aforementioned processing, is fed into a combustion chamber for a steam boiler that is used for beer brewing, and the spent grain is advanced downward through the combustion chamber with agitation to aid combustion.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2011Date of Patent: September 20, 2016Assignee: AKBEV LLCInventors: Geoffrey Larson, Curtis Holmes, Brandon Smith, David D.
