  • Patent number: 7731957
Abstract: A novel computational method and generation of mutant butyrylcholinesterase for cocaine hydrolysis is provided. The method includes molecular modeling a possible BChE mutant and conducting molecular dynamics simulations and hybrid quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical calculations thereby providing a screening method of possible BChE mutants by predicting which mutant will lead to a more stable transition state for a rate determining step. Site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression, and protein activity is conducted for mutants determined computationally as being good candidates for possible BChE mutants, i.e., ones predicted to have higher catalytic efficiency as compared with wild-type BChE. In addition, mutants A199S/A328W/Y332G, A199S/F227A/A328W/Y332G, A199S/S287G/A328W/Y332G, A199S/F227A/S287G/A328W/Y332G, and A199S/F227A/S287G/A328W/E441D all have enhanced catalytic efficiency for (?)-cocaine compared with wild-type BChE.

  • Publication number: 20070293195
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile phone and a method for its operation and control. The mobile phone is capable of receiving the message sent by other mobile phones through a message transmission system. The method comprises: receiving the message from another mobile phone, wherein the received message comprises a presentation part and an associated control part, the control part being used for the control and management of the processing of the received message; extracting the control part from the received message; and executing the operation related to the message based on the extracted control part. According to an embodiment, if the control part received by the mobile phone comprises the notification mode control command, the mobile phone issues a message notification according to the notification mode control command, disregarding the message notification mode pre-configured on the mobile phone. Thus the requirement of the sender personalized message service can be satisfied.

  • Patent number: 5817616
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for producing a composition comprising 4,4-dimethyl-6-isopropyl-1,2,3, 4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-one. The composition of the invention is prepared by the oxidation of a 1,1-dimethyl-7-isopropyl -1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene raw material, which may be prepared by rearrangement and aromatization of longifolene. The invention also relates to perfume comprising the composition of the invention. The process uses organic acid salts of metals, including Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni, and the like, as oxidizing catalysts to produce the compound, which has a floral odor that diffuses easily and is long lasting. The fragrance of 4,4-dimethyl-6-isopropyl-1,2,3, 4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-one is similar to various natural essential oils and their mixtures. Due to both its floral and woody odor, the 4,4-dimethyl-6-isopropyl-1,2,3, 4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-one compound can be advantageously used as an ingredient in various types of perfumery materials.

  • Patent number: 5798753
Abstract: A pixel of a color video image is converted from one color format having luminance and chrominance signals, e.g., YUV format, to a destination format, e.g., RGB or CMY formats, by forming luminance and chrominance component words which include partitioned words representing various color components of the luminance and chrominance signals. The luminance and chrominance component words are summed using a partitioned addition operation to thereby accumulate the various color components of the luminance and chrominance signals simultaneously and in parallel. Formation of the luminance and chrominance component words is, in some instances, done by a load and store unit of a central processing unit while a graphics execution unit simultaneously sums the luminance and chrominance components using the partitioned addition operation. By using this technique, conversion of pixels of a color motion image from YUV format to a different format, e.g.

  • Patent number: 5768429
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fast and cost-effective digital video decompression is disclosed. The invention implements the inverse quantization, inverse discrete cosine transform and motion compensation functions for an MPEG decoder in a pipelined parallel processor. The IDCT and motion compensation functions are implemented to maximize parallelization by using partitioned arithmetic and logic operations in a superscalar microprocessor. This approach drastically reduces the total number of instruction cycles required to perform the IDCT and motion compensation functions.
