  • Patent number: 5734785
Abstract: In an image signal recording system for recording on a recording medium an original image signal corresponding to an original picture which is comprised of a plurality of pixels, the original picture is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks each consisting of a predetermined number of pixels, and image signals each corresponding to the associated pixel block divided are recorded on the recording medium in accordance with a first recording mode and a second recording mode which are mutually different in a recording format. Either of the first and second recording modes is selected on each of the plurality of pixel blocks and a recording mode information signal corresponding to the selected recording mode is generated. There are recorded on the recording medium, the first image information signal or the second image information signal formed and the recording mode information signal generated, on a multiple basis.

  • Patent number: 5598275
Abstract: A video signal recording apparatus includes a memory for storing a one-picture portion of an input video signal. An overlapping device gradually switches a first video signal, read from the memory, to a second video signal during a first predetermined time period, and provides an output video signal. A recording device records the video signal output from the overlapping device. A first manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an overlap mode, in which the overlapping device is operated in response to a start of recording by the recording device. A second manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an interval recording mode, in which the recording device is periodically operated to record during every second predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 5519448
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus provided with a signal processing circuit including a memory capable of storing inputted video signals of one frame. In response to an operation of a manually operable freeze key, writing the video signals to the memory is inhibited, and reading the video signals from the memory is continuously performed. In response to a continuous operation of the freeze key in excess of a predetermined time period, the video signals of one frame are periodically written to the memory, and the video signals in the memory are continuously read. Various special effects can be given to images upon an operation of the single freeze key.

  • Patent number: 5315379
Abstract: A color signal processing device for processing a carrier chrominance signal is arranged to produce a first sampling signal by sampling the carrier chrominance signal according to a sampling clock signal synchronized with a reference phase of the carrier chrominance signal and a second sampling signal which is of a sampling phase opposite to that of the first sampling signal and to form baseband signals conforming to a color signal by using the first and second sampling signals. This arrangement enables the device to process the color signal without causing any signal deterioration that tends to result from DC fluctuations of the carrier chrominance signal.

  • Patent number: 4901119
Abstract: A video signal recording and/or reproduction apparatus in which an analog video signal from the inlet is digitized to form video data, then the video data are stored in a memory means for a time, then the stored video data are read out from the memory means before they are recorded on a recording medium. When reproducing the recorded video data from the recording medium, the reproduced video data are stored in a memory means for a time, then the stored video data are read out from the memory means, then the analog video signal is restored from the read video data, and then the analog video signal is produced at the output of the apparatus. Further, by taking the synchronism of the write and read control signals of different frequency for either of the memory means of the recording and reproducing systems, it is made possible to assure accurate and reliable conversion between the analog and digital forms of the video signals when either in the record or in the reproduction mode.

  • Patent number: 4891702
Abstract: An image expansion apparatus includes a FIFO-type image memory, writing and reading circuits for the image memory, and a plurality of cascade-connected delay circuits for sequentially delaying image data read out of the FIFO image memory. Image expansion in the main scanning direction is achieved by applying a delay to make the speed at which image data is read out of the FIFO image memory slower than that at which the image data is written in the FIFO image memory. Image expansion in the feed scanning direction is achieved by successively selecting and delivering outputs from delay circuits the number of which is equal to the magnification of the image.
