  • Publication number: 20230159152
Abstract: A system for an automated cabin-divider door for an aircraft includes a door, a motor for moving the door to an open position, a limit switch configured to detect when the door is in a fully open position and to stop the motor, and electronics coupling the motor and the limit switch to an avionics system. The avionics system determines when the door is to be opened and provides a signal to the motor for moving the door to the fully open position. A method for automatically opening the cabin-divider door includes determining whether the aircraft is on the ground or in flight, determining whether the aircraft is taxiing, and determining whether the aircraft is in a final phase of approach. When the aircraft is taxiing or in the final phase of approach, the method includes sending a command signal to the motor for opening the cabin-divider door.

  • Publication number: 20230122102
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to add augmented reality to a sub-view of a high resolution central video feed. In various embodiments, a central video feed is received from a first camera on a first recurring basis and time-stamped position information is received from a tracking system on a second recurring basis. The central video feed is calibrated against a spatial region encompassed by the central video feed. The received time-stamped position information and a determined plurality of tiles associated with at least one frame of the central video feed are used to define a first sub-view of the central video feed. The first sub-view and a homography defining placement of augmented reality elements on the at least one frame of the central video feed are provided as output to a device configured to use the first sub-view and the homography display the first sub-view.

  • Publication number: 20230111253
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, devices and methods for continuous and simultaneous monitoring of multiple analytes within interstitial fluid by an integrated system for a microneedle array sensor platform. In some aspects, the device includes a microneedle array sensor unit, an electronics unit and a housing structure. The electronics unit is in electrical communication with an array of electrode probe structures via an array of surface-mount, spring loaded pins, and the electronics unit includes a power source, a data processing unit, and a wireless transmitter. The housing structure is configured to encase, at least partially, the microneedle array sensor unit and the electronics unit, where the array of microneedles is exposed from a side of the housing structure. The device can be configured as a patch worn on skin of a patient user.

  • Patent number: 11622596
Abstract: A force absorbing device for a footwear appliance includes a shoe upper and a shoe sole having a planar sole surface, such that forces between the shoe upper and planar sole surface in ground contact are absorbed by force mitigation assemblies disposed in the shoe sole. A force mitigation assembly adapted for an athletic shoe includes a linkage to a wearer interface responsive to movement based on activity of the wearer. An attachment to a sole surface receives ground forces transmitted from frictional contact between the sole surface and a surface against which the sole is disposed, such as for running, turning, etc. A force mitigation assembly absorbs these forces received from the sole surface for directing the received force in a controlled manner. An elastic field in the force mitigation assembly is defined by a resilient material adapted to deform in response to the received force.

  • Publication number: 20230085122
Abstract: In an embodiment, a process to predict a probability of a future event occurring in a present competition includes receiving time-stamped position information of one or more participants in the present competition. The time-stamped position information is captured by a telemetry tracking system during the present competition. The process uses the time-stamped position information to determine a first play situation of the present competition. The process determines, based on at least the first play situation and playing data associated with at least a subset of one or both of a first set of one or more participants and a second set of one or more participants, a prediction of the probability of a first future event occurring at the present competition.

  • Patent number: 11595708
Abstract: There is described a method for determining a play duration estimate of an adaptive bit rate (ABR) media presentation. The method comprises receiving at a network entity a media playlist manifest file of the media presentation, wherein the manifest file is transmitted from a content server to a client and comprises a plurality of entries, each entry linking to a respective different one of a plurality of media segments of the media presentation. The method further comprises determining a data size of the manifest file; and determining a play duration estimate of the media presentation based on the determined data size of the manifest file, a first value that represents a data size of each of the plurality of entries in the manifest file and a second value that represents a play duration of each media segment of the plurality of media segments of the media presentation.

  • Patent number: 11590406
Abstract: A ski binding reduces a likelihood of injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the tibia is accomplished by absorption in the binding to limit loads transmitted through the boot-binding interface. Release based on an injury threshold includes a binding response tower attached to the ski and adapted for selective engagement with the ski, such that the binding response tower permits biased vertical and lateral horizontal displacement, prior to a release threshold. The binding is in communication with the boot heel and is adapted for slideable engagement in response to vertical and lateral forces exerted from the boot heel. The binding response tower adapted to disengage, or release upon reaching at least one a predetermined lateral displacement or a predetermined vertical displacement, such as when the boot heel is forced sufficiently sideways or upwards due to skier movement that would tend to cause an ACL injury.
