  • Patent number: 10445163
Abstract: Computer system drift can occur when a computer system or a cluster of computer systems deviates from ideal and/or desired behavior. In a server farm, for example, many different machines may be identically configured to work in conjunction with each other to provide an electronic service (serving web pages, processing electronic payment transactions, etc.). Over time, however, one or more of these systems may drift from previous behavior. Early drift detection can be important, especially in large enterprises, to avoiding costly downtime. Changes in a computer's configuration files, network connections, and/or executable processes can indicate ongoing drift, but collecting this information at scale can be difficult. By using certain hashing and min-Hash techniques, however, drift detection can be streamlined and accomplished for large scale operations. Velocity of drift may also be tracked using a decay function.

  • Patent number: 10443604
Abstract: Systems and methods to clamp an impeller on a shaft in a centrifugal compressor. The embodiments as disclosed herein may include clamping individual impeller independently to the shaft, which may reduce the tolerance stack-up effect of a plurality of impellers. The impeller can be clamped to the shaft by positioning, for example, a relatively stiff support (e.g. a shaft locknut) on a front side of the impeller. The impeller can also be clamped to the shaft by a relatively flexible support to compensate for e.g. thermal expansion/contraction of the impeller. The embodiments as disclosed herein are particularly suitable for a multi-stage impeller.

  • Patent number: 10410462
Abstract: An exchangeable electric vehicle battery receptacle, kiosk is disclosed herein. The kiosk includes a receptacle, a bell crank and solenoid that lock a battery in the receptacle, and circuitry that dispenses the battery. The bell crank includes a first arm extending into the receptacle and a second arm coupled to an extension spring that is coupled to a fixed point on the kiosk. The battery includes a form factor dimensioned to fit at least partially around the first arm. The solenoid has an armature and is positioned adjacent to the second arm. The armature fixes the bell crank and fixes the extension spring in an extended state, thereby locking the battery in the receptacle slot. The circuitry retracts the armature into the solenoid. A retraction force on the second arm by the extension spring rotates the bell crank, at least partially dispensing the exchangeable battery from the receptacle slot.

  • Patent number: 10363951
Abstract: A child restraint for a child seat is relatively easily engaged using a passive approach and resists disengagement until released. A cross bar can be moved along a slide mechanism in the restraint, where the cross bar or the slide mechanism may include a ratchet mechanism. The ratchet mechanism may operate to permit the cross bar to be moved with relative ease in a first direction, and resist movement of the cross bar in a second, different direction. The cross bar in a lowered position contributes to restraining the child in the child seat by limiting leg movement. A release mechanism is actuated to release the cross bar to permit relatively easy movement. A locking mechanism may be employed to lock the cross bar in place.

  • Patent number: 10293863
Abstract: A three-wheeled automobile is described herein. The automobile may include a unibody frame, a flexible engine cowling, and a fastener. The unibody frame may include an exposed unibody panel and/or a removable-panel securing fixture disposed adjacent to the exposed unibody panel. The engine cowling may be secured to the securing fixture. The fastener may pass through the engine cowling panel and may be affixed to the securing fixture, thereby securing the engine cowling panel to the unibody frame. The engine cowling panel may pass over the securing fixture and/or behind the unibody panel. The engine cowling panel may be pressed against the unibody panel outwards from the automobile by a bending force in the engine cowling panel such that the exposed unibody panel may prevent bowing of an outside edge of the engine cowling panel directly adjacent to the unibody panel.

  • Patent number: 10297821
Abstract: Methods are presented for synthesizing a metal precursor for a cathode-active material. The methods include adding urea to a solution comprising dissolved ions of at least one transition metal selected from Mn, Co, and Ni. The methods also include increasing a pH of the aqueous solution to a threshold pH. The methods additionally include heating the aqueous solution to precipitate a compound that includes the at least one transition metal. Such heating may involve urea decomposition. Methods are also presented that include filtering the compound from the solution and contacting the compound with at least a lithium precursor to produce a reactant charge. In these methods, the reactant charge is calcined to produce the cathode-active material. Other methods are presented.
