  • Publication number: 20210301946
Abstract: A method for controlling buckling in subsea pipelines involves identifying spaced-apart sections of a subsea pipeline suitable for controlled lateral buckling. Sets of buoyancy modules are installed at each spaced-apart section and are selected to support the spaced-apart sections of the subsea pipeline in a neutrally buoyant condition at the seafloor when the subsea pipeline is in service. Any buckling caused by thermal expansion of the subsea pipeline is distributed to two or more of the spaced-apart sections, causing the two or more spaced-apart sections to deflect laterally along the seafloor outwardly from an initial as-laid position.

  • Patent number: 11063985
Abstract: A graphical user interface provides network security administrators a tool to quickly and easily create one or more courses of action for automatic response to a network threat. The courses of action are hardware and system agnostic, which allows a common response task to be implemented by an underlying response engine for any or multiple similar-function devices regardless of brand or version. The course of action builder allows the administrator to use a simple, graphic-based, business modeling concept to craft and design security response processes rather than having to hard code response routines specific to each piece of hardware on the network. The graphic interface model allows the user of the threat response software incorporating the course of action builder to easily understand the overall flow and paths the response may take, as well as understand the data requirements and dependencies that will be evaluated.

  • Patent number: 11051699
Abstract: A method and system for estimating fractional fat content of an object of interest. The method and system include a thermoacoustic imaging system comprising an adjustable radio frequency (RF) applicator configured to emit RF energy pulses into the region of interest and heat tissue therein and an acoustic receiver configured to receive bipolar acoustic signals generated in response to heating of tissue in the region of interest; and one or more processors. The one or more processors are able to process bipolar acoustic signals received by the acoustic receiver in response to RF energy pulses emitted into the region of interest using the RF applicator to determine a setting for the RF applicator that yields bipolar acoustic signals with at least one enhanced metric thereof, determine an impedance of the RF applicator used to yield acoustic bipolar signals with the enhanced at least one metric, and estimate fractional fat content of the object of interest using the determined impedance.

  • Publication number: 20210171365
Abstract: A method and enhancements for the decontamination of water containing one or more PFAS contaminants includes introducing a foaming agent into the water, and injecting a gas through a diffuser and into the water so as to form a plurality of bubbles in the water, the one or more PFAS contaminants accumulating on the plurality of bubbles. The plurality of bubbles is allowed to rise, forming a foam at the surface of the water. The resulting foam is then collected and transported away from the surface of the water, where it condenses into a liquid and is treated to regulatory standards.

  • Patent number: 10932960
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article of a brief or pull-up type incorporates a breathable laminate material composed of two layers. The laminate is an elastic material and may include non-elastic portions created by deactivating the material. The laminate material may be made breathable by the ultrasonic bonding process used to create the laminate. A third layer is adhered or bonded to the laminate and with leg elastics positioned between the laminate that the third layer. The absorbent article includes an absorbent assembly that overlaps with the non-elastic portions of the laminate.
