  • Publication number: 20160302708
Abstract: The biological test kit is a device for drawing and, optionally, testing biological samples. The biological test kit is an array of lancets set in wells in a rigid base. Each lancet well is covered by a protective cover which when deformed permits the lancet to puncture a user or other patient. In one embodiment the biological test kit employs distinct covers for each lancet and in another the covers are formed from sheet material formed into blisters which cover the lancet.

  • Patent number: 9448692
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for displaying menu options. A menu icon is displayed on a touch-sensitive screen. In some embodiments, the menu icon is displayed with a feed from a social networking system. In response to detecting a contact with the menu icon, an animation of a plurality of sub-menu icons emanating from the menu icon is displayed. The sub-menu icons move along different predefined paths to different predefined positions. Each sub-menu icon is associated with an interface to post content to a social networking system. In response to detecting a contact with a sub-menu icon, the interface associated with the sub-menu icon is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20160120452
Abstract: This disclosure provides equipment and processes for blood glucose management. Embodiments may comprise a lancet device that includes a base that supports a lancet and a cover. The cover can move controllably from an un-depressed position to a depressed position when a predetermined force is applied. The cover can provide access to the lancet in the depressed position. In another aspect, a biological test kit may include a reusable module and a disposable module. The disposable module may include one or more lancet devices such as that described above to collect a biological sample, one or more strip stations supporting biological strips and a disposable module connector. The reusable module may support measuring equipment to measure a property of the biological sample and a reusable module connector that engages removably with the disposable module connector.

  • Patent number: 9315343
Abstract: An apparatus for separating and moving a selected number of items, such as a sheets, boards or blanks is provided in which a robotic arm is constructed with forks capable of securely compressing a desired number of items therebetween for displacement from a stack of the items. The items to be grasped by the arm are initially separated from the remainder of the stack by a separation mechanism that can be mounted directly to the arm or to a support structure for the stack of items. The separation mechanism engages and lifts the desired number of items from the stack to enable the forks on the arm to engage each side of the items. The apparatus can be quickly reconfigured to engage and remove any desired number of items from the stack and/or to accommodate changes I the shape, size and/or thickness of the items.

  • Publication number: 20150344166
Abstract: A low-spread metal elongated bottle and its production method are described for reducing rejection rates associated with the production of metal bottles at high speeds. The elongated bottle includes a sheet metal formed body. The sheet metal has a low spread between a yield state corresponding to the yield stress of the sheet metal and an ultimate tensile state corresponding to the ultimate tensile stress of the sheet metal. The body further includes a concave bottom portion having a circular perimeter. A cylindrical portion extends from the circular perimeter of the bottom portion and has a uniform diameter. A neck portion extends from the cylindrical portion and has a tapered profile. The neck portion may include a threaded portion including threads exposed on the outer surface of the neck portion or an area for crimping of a crown.

  • Publication number: 20150005591
Abstract: A method comprises measuring tissue carbon dioxide levels of a living organism, measuring end-tidal carbon dioxide levels of the living organism; and calculating at least one tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value based on the measured tissue carbon dioxide levels and the measured end-tidal carbon dioxide levels, the tissue-to-end-tidal carbon dioxide gradient value being indicative of a measure of perfusion of the living organism.
