  • Publication number: 20100011135
Abstract: In a system comprising a content performance device, multiple status display devices can communicate with the performance device to receive messages updating status of content being performed by the performance device, or being transmitted to one or more other performance devices. Content performance devices can include computers configured with software for managing media libraries, for obtaining Internet-based media, as well as more purpose-specific devices, such as digital video recorders, settop boxes, Apple TV, TiVo, and so on. Status display devices, remote controls or client devices can make standing requests to receive status updates as status changes. Status display devices also can function as remote controls for the performance device, and can submit control requests to it, which when effected, are acknowledged to all status display devices, which responsively update their displays.

  • Publication number: 20100011299
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for method for syncing a user interface on a server device to a user interface on a client device are disclosed. The method includes broadcasting a signal from a server device to a client device when the server device presents an active user input interface on a display screen, wherein the active user input interface illustrates input from a user via a remote control that is separate from the client device, wherein the remote control requires multiple steps for inputting a character. The method next includes establishing a connection between the server device and the client device if certain pre-defined criteria are met. Next the method includes transmitting parameters for displaying a client user input interface on the connected client device that is associated with the active user input interface, including loading existing data in an input field of the active user input interface into a client input field on the client device.

  • Publication number: 20090235589
Abstract: A horizontal side-moving door with a side-winding curtain or horizontally translating panel includes a breakaway brace that helps hold a relatively rigid leading edge of the curtain or panel in a substantially vertical orientation. Should a forklift accidentally strike the leading edge of the curtain or panel, a replaceable shear pin incorporated in the brace breaks away to release the leading edge, thus protecting the edge from damage. Although the shear pin can break into two or more pieces, the brace includes means for holding the pieces in place and preventing them from falling and hitting anything underneath the pin. Although with some limitations, the door is still operational even while the pin is broken.

  • Patent number: 7555609
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for retrieving data from memory in a computer system. In one example, a memory controller is coupled to a system bus in a computer system that includes bus masters similarly coupled to the system bus. The memory controller is configured to receive requests to read or write data from memory from bus masters of the computer system. If the memory controller receives an initial request from certain bus masters, the memory controller is further configured to anticipate a future request from certain bus masters and prefetch data on behalf of certain bus masters for rapid delivery following a subsequent request to read data from memory submitted by the certain bus masters.
