  • Patent number: 5383718
Abstract: A brake system which can be employed both for brake slip control and for traction slip control, wherein the brake slip control is performed according to the return delivery principle, while an open-loop system is set up during traction slip control. In order to manage with the same pump (10) in both cases, a valve system composed of a first non-return valve (16) and a second non-return valve (17) is provided at the suction side of the pump. The opening pressure of the first non-return valve (16) is greater than that of the second non-return valve (17). Further, the initial pressure of a low-pressure accumulator (9) is in excess of the opening pressure of the first non-return valve (16). The first non-return valve (16) is operative during brake slip control, while the second non-return valve (17) is operative during traction slip control. Switch-over can be effected for instance by the master cylinder pressure via a control line (18).

  • Patent number: 5363653
Abstract: A cylindrical combustion chamber housing of a gas turbine, in which the compressor air is fed into the lower, conical part of the combustion chamber housing, the perforated cone (5), through a lateral, arc-shaped inlet elbow (2). The inlet elbow (2) is directly joined by the intake distribution element (1), in which the compressor air is led around the perforated cone (5) on both sides. The tangential flow is converted around a cone into an axial flow through the holes (7) in the perforated cone (5). The conversion of the direction of flow of the compressor air is supported by radially arranged ribs (3). As a result, optimal cooling of the entire injector tube (6) is achieved, while the pressure drop in the air feed area (1, 2 and 5) is minimized, and the efficiency of the gas turbine is increased at the same time.

  • Patent number: 5350226
Abstract: An anti-lock hydraulic brake system is described wherein a throttle valve has a restrictive flow condition which becomes effective in the brake line in the event of brake slip control. Pumps for reapply pressure deliver fluid to the wheel brake via this restriction and regulating the pressure in the wheel brake is performed by control of an outlet valve. The throttle valve is operated hydraulically by various arrangements including the application of pump pressure, or by wheel brake pressure applied upon opening of the outlet valve at the start of an anti-lock control cycle.

  • Patent number: 5335983
Abstract: The invention is related to a hydraulic unit for hydraulic control and regulation of apparatuses, in particular for brake pressure control apparatuses in anti-lock control systems or for traction slip control systems for automotive vehicles. In order to effectively reduce both the noise level depending on the switching positions of the solenoid valves and its diffusion, the invention is based on the concept that while the outlet solenoid valve is open to limit the volume of pressure agent being taken in from the pressure agent source and flowing to the pressure agent consumer through a slide valve which is integrated into the valve accommodation body, a control edge being active at the slide valve reduces the pressure agent flow due to the lifting stroke motion which is dependent on the pressure differential.

  • Patent number: 5310253
Abstract: A braking pressure control device is described for an automatic wheel brake system equipped with an anti-lock control system (ABS) and/or a traction slip control system (TSC). A controlled pressure reduction phase with a minimized residual pressure in the wheel brake is achieved by the control device, which includes, an inner piston (1) guided within an outer piston (4) displaceable in relation to a valve housing (2) and furnished with a piston step (3), while a spring fixed in the outer piston (4) urges the inner piston (1) towards a valve closure member (7) mounted within the outer piston (4) and movable onto an inlet valve seat (15), the inner piston (1) holding the closure element (7) off the seat (15) until the outlet valve (21) is opened. The outer piston (4) then modulates the outflow by movement of a control edge (19) against the force of a control spring (8).

  • Patent number: 5299858
Abstract: A brake system based on the recirculation principle and having a self-priming pump which operates for both anti-lock control and traction slip control. The pump self-primes from the pressure medium storage reservoir via the master cylinder for traction slip control. In a diagonal brake circuit arrangement, a vacuum is prevented from forming in the wheel brake of the non driven wheel because two non-return valves and an auxiliary line are provided which, with the traction-slip-control shut-off valve closed, only permit pressure medium to be supplied to the wheel brake of the non-driven wheel from the suction side of the pump, whereas pressure medium removal only can take place towards the delivery side of the pump.

  • Patent number: 5295739
Abstract: A brake pressure control apparatus for automotive vehicles with an anti-locking control system (ABS) and/or with a traction slip control system (TSS) is presented. In the inlet line to the wheel cylinder an inlet valve is provided which affords a change-over from an orifice function into a flow limiting valve function at a predetermined wheel cylinder pressure. Flow is initially through an orifice (6) in a control slide valve piston (20), held in its initial position by a prestressing spring (23) acting through an auxiliary piston in engagement with control slide valve piston (20). An increase in pressure in the wheel cylinder (13), also exerted in the wheel cylinder pressure chamber (9), to a predetermined level, causes the auxiliary piston (27) to disengage from the control slide valve piston (20), preventing the force of the prestressing spring (23) from acting on the control slide valve piston (20).

  • Patent number: 5239133
Abstract: A fitting arrangement and process for the guidance and the fixing of one or more electric lines passing into a cover lid, as far a valve block for electromagnetically switchable hydraulic valves. The lines are individually molded into a conductor accommodating element, which in turn is fit and sealed in an opening within the cover lid. The conductor accommodating element is retained in the cover lid opening by a protective cap having protrusions to lock the element in the opening, drawing a collar against the opposite side of the cover lid. The lines are bent over and exit an open end of the protective cap, which is locked in position by a ridge snapping into a depression in the cover lid as the cap is slid into grooves on the accommodating element.

  • Patent number: 5188433
Abstract: In an anti-lock brake system, a differential pressure limiter (8) is connected in front of the inlet valve (6). This causes a defined pressure gradient to always prevail at the inlet valve (6), what appreciably reduces the noise emission of the valve during an anti-lock braking operation. Since the inlet valve (6) has a slight throttling effect in its opened position, it may occur that on brake operation with cold brake fluid a pressure gradient is generated at the inlet valve (6) which results in the differential pressure limiter closing. It is therefore suggested to arrange a bimetal spring (20) in parallel to the control spring (15) of the differential pressure limiter (8), which bimetal spring expands at low temperatures and cases a force in addition to the spring force of the control spring (15) to act on the control piston.
