Publication number: 20240142208Abstract: Provided is an ammunition canister system that includes a can with an open interior and a mounting plate. A first and a second interior divider form three interior ammunition storage bays, while a three-to-one transition feed tray transitions belted ammunition contained in the bays to a single feed chute. The base of the can further includes loading pins, quick release locks, and lock pins, while the mounting plate includes mounting apertures, loading guides, quick release lock pin receiving apertures, and pin accepting apertures on the second side. The loading pins interface with the loading guides, the quick release locks interface with the quick release lock pin receiving apertures, and the lock pins interface with the pin accepting apertures to secure the ammunition canister to the mounting plate. The mounting plate enables the can to be mounted to the deck of helicopter or another vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: The United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Paul Denesha, Michael L. Patent number: 11299143Abstract: An operating method for a power train of a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine, an electric drive machine and a rechargeable electric energy storage unit configured to supply the electric drive machine with energy, includes controlling the power train in a zero emission mode in which the internal combustion engine is deactivated and in which the electric drive machine serves to drive the hybrid vehicle, and in an emission mode in which the internal combustion engine is operated in a fired operation. The method also includes determining, for a system initiated change of operating mode from the zero emission mode into the emission mode, a starting command for the internal combustion engine. The change of operating mode from the zero emission mode into the emission mode is blocked for one of a predefinable delay time, a predefinable quantity of energy extracted from the electric energy storage unit, or a predefinable travel distance.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2019Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Eric Berger, Arthur Huelsmann, Daniel Mau, Ferdinand Wiesbeck

Patent number: 10933860Abstract: A method and a device operate a hybrid vehicle having an electric energy store, an electric propulsion system and an internal combustion engine. A special operating strategy that can be initiated for the internal combustion engine allows the state of charge of the energy store to be increased when predefined acoustic conditions are met. The special operating strategy has a performance-enhancing effect by raising the load point until acoustic limits are reached which are ascertained in real time, can be predefined in a variable manner and are defined in accordance with ascertained potentials for masking specific acoustic events.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2018Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Ferdinand Wiesbeck, Arthur Huelsmann, Eric Berger, Johann Engl
