  • Publication number: 20130154314
Abstract: An office chair including a linking mechanism between a movable chair seat and a pivotable chair back. The mounting arrangement between the chair back and the chair seat includes swing arm assembly that is pivotally connected to the chair seat. When the chair seat moves forward, the swing arm assembly moves with the chair seat and causes the chair back to pivot and move relative to a stationary support arm. The stationary support arm includes a curved support face that moves within a movement slot formed on the swing arm assembly. The movement slot includes a roller that helps guide relative movement between the two components. The chair seat includes a thigh support portion that allows the user to adjust the seat depth as desired.

  • Publication number: 20120173150
Abstract: An interior volume of a bridge deck is probed using a transportable sensor system that produces deck data useful for assessing internal degradation of the bridge deck. Geographic position data of sensor system positioning is produced as the sensor system traverses the deck. The deck data is associated with the one or more deck locations using the geographic positioning data, and adjusted deck data is generated using adjustment data indicative of external factors that influence the deck data but are unrelated to a failure mechanism impacting the bridge deck interior. An output may be generated comprising at least the adjusted deck data.

  • Patent number: 8122264
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-implemented limited right-to-use business method. In response to a command to change the right-to-use status of at least a first component, the right-to-use status of said processor is changed in a direction either from reserved to available or from available to reserved. Then, the power state of the component can be changed as a function of that direction.

  • Publication number: 20080104245
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method is disclosed for changing the resource availability of a particular user in a manner calculated to add the least cost to the user. A cluster of partition servers are arranges, in one embodiment, with a master controller for keeping track at any point in time as to the different licensing costs involved with different methods of adding resource capacity. When a user requires additional capacity the system calculates which of several possible resource enhancements to initiate based upon a least cost analysis.

  • Publication number: 20080065770
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method groups two or more servers in a share group. The method then tracks how many rights to use a particular hardware module type are owned and in use by each of the servers. If a first one of the servers needs to activate an inactive one of the particular hardware module type, but does not own an unused right to use the particular hardware module type, the method then i) requests a second one of the servers to inactivate one of its hardware modules, thereby freeing a right to use the particular hardware module type, and ii) claims the freed right of the second server for use by the first server. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
