  • Patent number: 9863352
Abstract: A method for the regulation of a temperature in an exhaust stream in a motor vehicle through control of its driveline: the motor vehicle includes a driveline having a combustion engine, which may be connected to a gearbox via a clutch device, and an exhaust system for removing an exhaust stream from the engine. The method includes controlling the driveline for activation or deactivation of coasting of the vehicle based on one or several first parameters P1 and one or several second parameters P2 for regulation of a temperature TEx in the exhaust system. At least one of the first parameters P1 is a first temperature difference between the first temperature T1 in the exhaust system and a reference temperature TREF. The said second parameter P2 is related to a calculated speed and/or a calculated road inclination over the road section ahead for the motor vehicle. Further, a computer program, a computer program product, a system and a motor vehicle including such a system are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9821803
Abstract: A method and a system for controlling a cruise control and a transmission in a vehicle over the course of a road section, wherein prior to the road section, the vehicle has applied coasting and utilizes the cruise control. A reference speed vref utilized in the cruise control during the coasting is lowered to a lowest permitted speed vmin defined for the road section if the lowering is deemed applicable. A comparison of a drive force Fdd requested from an engine system in the vehicle with a threshold value Flim for the drive force is also carried out. The coasting is then suspended if the requested drive force Fdd exceeds the threshold value Flim for the drive force.

  • Patent number: 9714704
Abstract: A method and a system for choosing a transmission mode in a vehicle over the course of a road section, wherein the vehicle has applied coasting prior to this road section and wherein a highest permitted speed vmax is defined for the road section, below which an actual speed for the vehicle should be kept. A simulation of a future speed profile vsim_Gear for a possible gear position for a gearbox in the vehicle is conducted on the basis of a road slope obtained from map data in combination with vehicle positioning information and wherein the simulation simulates, when the road section lies ahead of the vehicle, an actual speed for the vehicle over the course of the road section. Next, an evaluation is carried out of whether a suspension of the coasting in favor of the possible gear position is recommended, wherein the possible gear position is deemed recommendable if a highest value vsim_Gear_max for the future speed profile exceeds the highest permitted speed vmax.

  • Publication number: 20170198655
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for control of a combustion engine in a vehicle. In operation, at least one future speed profile for an actual speed of the vehicle is simulated during a road section ahead based on information about the road section and on knowledge that coasting with the combustion engine shut down will be applied during the road section. Subsequently, based on the future speed profile, a starting point in time is determined, when the combustion engine will need to be started for forward driving the vehicle and/or to brake the vehicle. Subsequently, a starting point brought forward in time is determined based on the need for a forward driving or braking force arising, where the starting point brought forward in time precedes the starting point in time. Subsequently, the combustion engine is controlled to be started at the starting point brought forward in time.

  • Publication number: 20170159593
Abstract: The present invention presents a method and a system for the control of preparatory measures during a road section, for at least one system. First, one or several parts of a road section are identified, during which parts one or several engines comprised in the vehicle may be shut down. Such identification is carried out when the road section is ahead of the vehicle, that is to say before the vehicle has entered the road section. The identification is based on available information about the road section. Subsequently it is determined whether at least one preparatory measure for at least one respective system in the vehicle needs to be carried out, in order to facilitate that one or several of the engines may be shut down. Subsequently, the preparatory measures are controlled based on the determination of the need to carry out the at least one preparatory measure.

  • Publication number: 20170158204
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for control of a combustion engine in a vehicle. At least one future speed profile for an actual speed of the vehicle during a road section is simulated based on information about the road section, and that coasting will be applied during the road section. An applicability for coasting during the road section is evaluated. Subsequently, it is evaluated whether the combustion engine may be shut down during a coasting for at least a part of the road section. The evaluation of the shutdown of the combustion engine is based on whether one or several system conditions for engine shutdown have been met, on one or several properties for one or several brake systems in the vehicle, and on a shutdown period, when the combustion engine could be shut down. The combustion engine is then controlled based on this evaluation.
