  • Patent number: 11946330
Abstract: A downhole actuator (16) includes a piston (15) within a chamber (17) on which fluid can act on either side to hydraulically activate the actuator. A hydrostatic equilibrium device (18) and a valve (14) are mounted around the hydraulic actuator. With a radial port (28) of the hydrostatic equilibrium device closed and the valve closed to seal the string, pumping fluid through the string operates the actuator. Pressure overbalance prevents movement of the piston (15). The radial port (28) is opened to drain fluid from the string until equilibrium is reached with the annular volume and the piston (15) can be moved.

  • Patent number: 11948475
Abstract: A system and method for training a student employ a simulation station that displays output to the student and receives input. The computer system has a rules engine operating on it and computer accessible data storage storing (i) learning object data including learning objects configured to provide interaction with the student at the simulation system and (ii) rule data defining a plurality of rules accessed by the rules engine. The rules data includes, for each rule, respective (a) if-portion data defining a condition of data and (b) then-portion data defining an action to be performed at the simulation station. The rules engine causes the computer system to perform the action when the condition of data is present in the data storage. For at least some of the rules, the action comprises output of one of the learning objects so as to interact with the student. The system may be networked with middleware and adapters that map data received over the network to rules engine memory.

  • Publication number: 20240086574
Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for providing personalized recommendations in a privacy preserving manner. A request from a provider application is received, the request comprising an anonymized user identifier and a navigation identifier that identifies a location of a user associated with the anonymized user identifier within a user interface of the provider application. A user associated with the anonymized user identifier is identified. Then, an activity history of the user is analyzed in order to select a layout order, wherein the layout order is selected based at least in part on the navigation identifier and the activity history of the user. The layout order is then provided to the provider application.

  • Publication number: 20230077113
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition, textile, and mask for reducing the inhalation of pollutants. The composition includes an aqueous solution of an inorganic iodide compound, a metal phthalocyanine, and a polymeric binder. The inorganic iodide can be cuprous iodide, the metal phthalocyanine can be iron phthalocyanine, and the polymeric binder can be polyvinylpyrrolidone or polyvinyl alcohol. This pollutant-inactivating composition neutralizes pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone, volatile organic compounds and other unpleasant airborne agents, without requiring elevated temperatures or bulky canisters containing adsorbents. Optionally, a humectant can also be incorporated into the coating solution to retain moisture in the active filter matrix, which enhances the activity of the composition to inactivate oxidizing gases and other toxic constituents of air pollution.

  • Patent number: 11283362
Abstract: A system for controlling and regulating the AC voltage level delivered to a load regardless of the varying input AC voltage comprises a high frequency AC series voltage regulator coupled with a low frequency operating mains transformer. In one embodiment, the LF operating mains transformer operates at electrical mains frequency, which is typically 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The magnetic core of the LF operating mains transformer may be made of industry standard low frequency core material selected from a material group including silicon steel and amorphous core such as ‘Metglass’. The AC series voltage regulator is connected to the primary of the LF operating mains transformer, and the secondary of the LF operating mains transformer is connected in series between the mains input (which receives the unregulated input AC voltage to be regulated) and its output (which outputs the regulated AC voltage to the loads).

  • Patent number: 11139685
Abstract: A method of determining one or more direct voltage reduction (DVR) factors at a point of load (POL) in a power grid voltage environment. An energy processing unit (EPU) is installed at each individual POL; each EPU includes at least one AC-AC series voltage regulator. • Patent number: 11063432
Abstract: In the present legacy electrical power generation and distribution system, the power quality delivered to end consumers is being degraded by a number of disruptive technologies and legislative impacts; especially with the rapidly increasing myriad of privately owned and operated domestic and commercial distributed energy generation (DEG) devices connected at any point across a low voltage (LV) distribution network. The present invention bypasses this increasing critical DEG problem by offering a solution comprising an energy processing unit (EPU) that is installed at the edge of the high voltage (HV) transmission grid.
