  • Publication number: 20200238111
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition, textile, and mask for reducing the inhalation of pollutants. The composition includes an aqueous solution of an inorganic iodide compound, a metal phthalocyanine, and a polymeric binder. The inorganic iodide can be cuprous iodide, the metal phthalocyanine can be iron phthalocyanine, and the polymeric binder can be polyvinylpyrrolidone or polyvinyl alcohol. This pollutant-inactivating composition neutralizes pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone, volatile organic compounds and other unpleasant airborne agents, without requiring elevated temperatures or bulky canisters containing adsorbents. Optionally, a humectant can also be incorporated into the coating solution to retain moisture in the active filter matrix, which enhances the activity of the composition to inactivate oxidizing gases and other toxic constituents of air pollution.

  • Publication number: 20190363536
Abstract: In the present legacy electrical power generation and distribution system, the power quality delivered to end consumers is being degraded by a number of disruptive technologies and legislative impacts; especially with the rapidly increasing myriad of privately owned and operated domestic and commercial distributed energy generation (DEG) devices connected at any point across a low voltage (LV) distribution network. The present invention bypasses this increasing critical DEG problem by offering a solution comprising an energy processing unit (EPU) that is installed at the edge of the high voltage (HV) transmission grid.

  • Patent number: 10392193
Abstract: A linkage for moving material from a first end of a conveyor toward a second end of the conveyor includes a first link and a second link. The first link includes a first side edge and a first indicator. The second link includes a second side edge and a second indicator. The second link is coupled to the first link such that the first side edge of the first link overlaps with the second side edge of the second link. Elongation of the first link in the direction of movement causes the first indicator to move relative to the second indicator, and a position of the first indicator relative to the second indicator provides an indication of a wear condition of the first link. In some aspects, a first surface and/or a second surface of one of the links includes a wear indicator representing a surface wear condition.

  • Publication number: 20190153846
Abstract: A technique to facilitate removal of various types of particulates from fluids during well operations. The technique may employ a skid positioned at a surface location. A filtration system is mounted on the skid to enable filtration of particulates as the subject fluid flows from a system inlet to a system outlet. The filtration system comprises a bank of filtering stages arranged generally horizontally on the skid. For example, a first stage may be constructed with a generally horizontal vessel containing a first filter arranged to filter particulates from the fluid. The first stage also may comprise a magnet positioned to retain ferrous debris. Additionally, a second stage receives fluid exiting from the first stage and contains a second filter for further filtering of particulates from the fluid.
