  • Patent number: 6957474
Abstract: A suction device for use in a textile machine, especially a water jet weaving installation has a slot between two glide strips for a transport device transporting the textile material that terminates radially inwards in a stationary suction tube into the thicker wall of which a suction slot is milled across the entire working length, thereby removing the need for bores having intermediate webs that are soiled by the lint suctioned off. The longitudinal slot in the suction tube is held at the desired distance by U-shaped straps that are distributed across the length of the slot. The straps are held on the suction tube by screws and are arrow-shaped in the zone of their base limbs so that the lint is unimpeded as it flows past this surface.

  • Publication number: 20050219505
Abstract: A large number of water jets are necessary in order to stabilise waterjets or general impingement of said water jets on a web of fabrics. Said jets exit from a nozzle strip (14) which is provided with a number of holes. A hole or holes can become blocked during use, making it necessary to clean of all the strips (14) in order to achieve a consistent treatment result. A device is arranged on the water strip in order to monitor the water jets exiting therefrom. In order to monitor the water-jets exiting therefrom, a device is arranged on the water strip, said device being able to change step back and forth, in the region where the water jets exit from the water strip, for monitoring purposes along one section of the length of said water strip.

  • Publication number: 20050155200
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for producing three-dimensional colourless designs in a non-woven fabric or like material entirely bonded. Said method consists in subjecting the fibers to a blowing process through openings which form the design, then in optionally bonding them in the openings, since the fibers in the openings are only displaced therein with limited depth, and are subsequently needle bonded against a supplementary support.

  • Patent number: 6918195
Abstract: It is known from the art to mount a wire gauze (10) onto a drum (1) with a permeable drum jacket (8) under pretension, for example, for allowing air to flow through a web of material placed on said drum, said wire gauze optionally being disposed even at a distance to the drum jacket surface. The air thus flows more evenly across the surface of the web of material and no visible marks on the web of material, caused by the contact of the web with the intermediate space between the holes of the drum, occur. The wire gauze has to be elastically fastened on the front faces of the drum to compensate also for thermal stresses. According to the invention, preferably U-shaped spring elements (11) extending radially to the axis of the drum are fastened on the front face of the drum and on a tensioning ring (13) for the gauze provided on the level of the drum outer diameter.

  • Publication number: 20050015950
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for generating three-dimensional transparent patterns on a non-woven fabric or similar, whereby, for example, hot air is sucked through openings which form the pattern in the circumferential surface of a drum. The openings are straight or curved gaps instead of conventional holes and together with other openings form the desired pattern. The air or similar, flowing through the gaps, presses the fibres into the gaps and the vacuum on the inner side of the drum sucks said fibres onto the patterning.

  • Patent number: 6836938
Abstract: Method for producing a composite non-woven fabric for the production of a hygiene product includes the steps of forming a spun-bonded non-woven fabric; compressing the spun-bonded non-woven fabric in the dry state in a continuous process after forming the spun-bonded non-woven fabric for pre-strengthening; coating the pre-strengthened spun-bonded non-woven fabric with a layer of pulp fibers; conducting a hydrodynamic water needling process to interconnect and strengthen the layer of pulp fibers and the pre-strengthened spun-bonded non-woven fabric to form a composite non-woven fabric; and then drying the composite non-woven fabric. The step of compressing the spun-bonded non-woven fabric provides only a light bonding of fibers of the spun-bonded non-woven fabric such that the pulp fibers enter into an internal bonding with fibers of the spun-bonded non-woven fabric in the hydrodynamic water needling process.

  • Patent number: 6820786
Abstract: A not-yet-bonded or only slightly bonded nonwoven staple fiber material cannot be delivered from the nip of a calendar roller pair to a following endless conveyor without support during transport. To provide this support, the invention provides for a supporting rotating element such as an endless conveyor or perforated drum, either of which is designed to be permeated by air from below flowing toward the element. This feature simultaneously achieves a cooling effect.

  • Publication number: 20040222556
Abstract: Non-wovens from water-entangled continuous split fibres and such fibres produced by the meltblown method are known per se. Split fibres are composed of several polymers and are expensive to produce. The drawing air which must be heated to high temperatures in the meltblown method impairs the resistance of the fibres, which are often tom forming staple fibres. The non-wovens or parts of the non-wovens are preferably made from continuous fibres, which burst in a longitudinal direction during production due to high hydrostatic pressure inside the fibre, forming monofilaments with a diameter of approximately 2 &mgr;m, whereby fine, resistant continuous filaments are produced. Non-wovens produced using said thin fibres are bonded using hydrodynamic needling in order to obtain abrasion-resistant wipe non-wovens.

  • Publication number: 20040221437
Abstract: Production of a non-woven tissue from wood pulp on a wet strip is known. The above has a cardboardy, paper-like feel to it. In order to achieve a web with sufficient resilience, the desired wood pulp fibres used to advantage in the hygiene industry for absorbing liquids are thus always mixed with chemical fibres as support fibres. According to the invention, a consolidated tissue with a soft feel and high fluid absorption is obtained by means of needling a non-woven pure wood pulp tissue with water.

  • Publication number: 20040123436
Abstract: The inner circumferential surface of a suction pipe must be periodically cleaned as well as the inner region of the suction slit and especially the webs between the suction holes of the suction pipe. The aim of the invention is to facilitate said cleaning process. To this end, a standard cleaning spray gun is provided with a long cleaning lance comprising a rotor nozzle on the end thereof. In order to clean the suction pipe, said lance can be passed through a hole on the front side of the fixed suction pipe. The dirt released and the remaining suction water can thus be evacuated on the other front side in a problem-free manner.

  • Patent number: 6735834
Abstract: Colored patterning of a web-shaped nonwoven or a composite made of a nonwoven and a fabric or knit is achieved by water jet needling. The nonwoven provided as the upper layer of two layers is provided with one or more colors or is colored or printed itself and is placed on a second nonwoven or a woven or one that has a different color. Then both layers are subjected to the water jets that displace the fibers, with the colored fibers in the first layer being displaced into the second layer to produce a pattern on the underside of the second layer. It is also possible, instead of colored fibers in the nonwoven of the upper layer, to move them when they are not colored into a second layer that can have any color.

  • Publication number: 20040078945
Abstract: The nozzle beam on a device for producing liquid jets in order to impinge said jets upon the fibres of a web of continuous material guided along the beam consists of a beam housing extending along the working width of the continuous web of fibre material, whereby two longitudinal bores placed on top of each other are accommodated in said housing and are separated from each other by means of an intermediate wall provided with continuous boreholes. The nozzle strip required to produce the liquid jets is mounted in a liquid-tight manner in the lower part of the housing and is cross-flown by pressurized water. In order to enable more needle water to reach the fabric than is usual with such a construction, two strips of nozzles are mounted in a housing and must be provided accordingly with pressurized water.

  • Publication number: 20030188406
Abstract: A pile carpet after tufting or the like is usually provided on the back with a latex precoat for stabilization and then provided with a foam back or an additional jute fabric. This environmentally hazardous method and the problem of recycling the foam back as well as the latex layer can be avoided If a nonwoven is applied instead to the tufted back of the carpet by water needling. This is possible with water needling in that the solidification of the pile fibers in or on the primary carrier takes place but no nonwoven fibers reach the visible side of the carpet. The back layer to be needled can also be made thicker and mote voluminous. Instead of a carpet, any other pile goods can also be stabilized in this fashion.

  • Publication number: 20030150244
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for treating web-type textiles, nonwovens or paper in a continuous stream, using a gaseous treatment agent that circulates in the device. The product lies on the exterior face of a permeable drum (5), which is subjected to an induced draught and has two base sections (11, 12) on its front face, more precisely on a sieve-type or perforated surface (9), which covers the drum structure. A perforated drum jacket (15), whose edges are merely clipped into the two base sections. (11, 12) extends between said base sections (11, 12). To achieve this, an annular groove (17) is machined into the base sections (11, 12). The edge of the sheet metal (15) and a ring-shaped clip segment (23) are inserted into said groove and are retained there by means of screws.
