  • Publication number: 20020166637
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing laminated material which can remove ear portions of a resin film extruded from an extruding machine and can directly laminate the resin film to a substrate and can make the processing of end portions of a laminated material after lamination unnecessary. The present invention also provides an apparatus used for such a manufacturing method. In the method for manufacturing laminated material which laminates a resin film formed by extruding molten thermoplastic resin from a T-die to a substrate, a laminating film is formed by cutting ear portions of the resin film before lamination and the laminating film is laminated to the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5735420
Abstract: In a biaxially-stretch-blow-molded container there is a method of producing the same. Redraw ratio at the bottom portion is small in the secondary blow molding without employing a complex heating system but in which a secondary article obtained by subjecting a preform article to the primary blow molding is preferentially shrunk at its bottom portion, and a tertiary article or a quaternally article before being subjected to the secondary blow molding is obtained having a bottom of a flat shape or in which the central portion is recessed inwardly of the container and the periphery thereof is flattened. The bottle obtained by this method has a thickness and crystallinity in the bottom portion which are nearly the same as those of the center of the barrel and are highly oriented. The heat-resistant bottle exhibits excellent strength in the bottom portion and symmetrical panel-sinking stability in the vacuum pressure.

  • Patent number: 4800250
Abstract: A method and apparatus for guiding the opposed edges of sheet material into substantially abutting edge-to-edge relationship with one another and thereafter welding said edges by a high energy welding source to form a seam. The invention enables the continuous high speed butt welding of the sheet material to form cylindrical bodies. The apparatus includes three elements, a mandrel, a mandrel holder and tube holders. Sheet material is fed to around said mandrel and advanced by a tube holder with an edge of two opposite edges of said sheet material being in intimate contact with a basis plane of said mandrel holder. Another edges is slided into contact with above mentioned edge of sheet material making abutting relationship after passing through the basis plane of said mandrel holder. These abutting edges pass a high energy zone of a welder and butt welded to make a tube.

  • Patent number: 4566155
Abstract: A cufflink is provided in two parts, namely a decorative head member and a link member with a shank and a flange with a shirt cuff button hiding recess. The decorative head has an opening formed in its rear plate, which opening is normally partially obstructed at two diametrically opposed sites by respective limbs of a spring. The tip end of the shank is grooved to be caught between the spring limbs. For assembling the cufflink through a shirt cuff, the tip of the shank is inserted in the opening in the rear plate of the decorative head and the two members are pressed together until the spring limbs catch in the shank grooves. For release, a lever on the side of the head is pressed transversally of the head, forcing the spring limbs temporarily apart and thus freeing the shank tip for withdrawal from the head rear plate opening.

  • Patent number: 4536243
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, manufacturing a metal can (1) with an annular seam (5) which is capable of withstanding high internal pressures and resisting chemical action. A piece of thermoplastic tape is heat bonded to the outer surface (10a.sub.3) of the open end portion (10a ) of a first can section (10) so as to leave a portion (11a) projecting therefrom. After being bent radially inwardly of the first can section, the projecting tape portion is further folded back into forced contact with the inner surface (10a.sub.2) of the open end portion of the first can section by means of a mandrel (16). The open end portion of the first can section is then heated, with the fold of the tape held pressed against its inner surface by the mandrel, to cause adhesion of the thermoplastic tape to the outer surface, edge (10a.sub.1), and inner surface of the open end portion of the first can section. An adhesive layer (4) is thus provided.
