  • Patent number: 4528726
Abstract: A cuff link removably attachable to a shirt cuff which has one buttonhole only comprises a link member detachably mountable on one cuff end in resiliently clamping relationship and a decorative member removably attachable to the link member on the other cuff. The link member includes a link post having a semispherical head insertable through the buttonhole in the other cuff into a circular hole in the decorative member and retainable therein by a spring fitted in grooves in the head. The decorative member can be attached to the link member simply by pushing them together until the spring is fitted in the grooves. For detaching the decorative member from the link member, they are relatively turned until the spring is displaced out of the grooves, whereupon the head can be pushed out of the circular hole under the resiliency of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4508481
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparation of metal vessels, which comprises lap-bonding circumferential open end portions of outer and inner members, each consisting of a formed seamless metal cup, to each other through an adhesive, said process being characterized by fitting both the outer and inner members to each other through an adhesive layer interposed between the open end portions of both the members, heating the fitted portions of both the outer and inner members so as to melt the adhesive layer, and cooling the fitted portions so that the temperatures of the fitted portions of both the outer and inner members are substantially equal to each other just before solidification of the adhesive layer and the adhesive is filled between both the open end portions.

  • Patent number: 4451316
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of metal vessels, which comprises lap-bonding both the circumferential end portions of upper and lower members, each consisting of a seamless formed metal cup, through a layer of a hot adhesive interposed therebetween, wherein a high frequency induction heating coil is arranged so that the coil covers a part, smaller than the semicircle, of the circumferential portion to be formed into a seam, which circumferential portion consists of said end portions engaged with each other through the hot adhesive layer, electricity is applied to the heating coil to induce an eddy current passing through said end portions and the circumferential portion and the heating coil are rotated relatively to each other, whereby both the end portions are heated and a seam is formed by heat bonding.

  • Patent number: 4441234
Abstract: The cufflink includes a decorative head element disassembly assembled to a shank and keeper unit. The decorative head element has a hole in which the shaft head with the aid of a spring which is mounted inside the element. Disassembly is achieved by pushing the two parts together, turning one about the shank a quarter turn and letting go. Within the element cavity a vertical rib is medially formed on the rear wall. The rib is horizontally notched intermediate the opening and edge of the element. The bow of the spring is received in the notch ad is resiliently loaded by a retainer located at the bow. The securement plate on which the round-tipped projection is mounted in the cavity so as to project outwardly in the hole is formed as a thin, dished portion of the vertical rib.

  • Patent number: 4441813
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting pinholes in cans comprising a dark box consisting of a light seal plate and a window, a photodetector detecting electrically the outer penetration of light, and light sources disposed around the can. The light seal plate has a groove for receiving an open end of a can therein and is of a hardness greater than that of the can. The groove of the light seal plate communicates with a trap. The surface of the groove is black non-luster.

  • Patent number: 4361936
Abstract: This invention relates to a cufflink disassemblably coupled of its two pieces, one being a decorative member and another being a keeper element, with the aid of a spring clip. The above assembling and disassembling are made quite easily and quickly by manual one touch fingering at a desired time, and once attached through button holes of the shirt's cuff which may be either one of double type or convertible type it is designed not to slip-off from the cuff, even when the cufflink brushes against a person and/or an object.

  • Patent number: 4242776
Abstract: The cufflink has two units which are disassemblably assembled to one another through a pair of shirt cuff button holes. For assembly, the outer end of the shank is inserted through an opening in the back of the decorative head element, pushed in further to deflect two springs inside the decorative head element and then the decorative head element is let go of, to lock the cufflink in an assembled condition. The shank is unitary with a keeper which has a recess in its inner face, for accepting and hiding from view the shirt button found beside one of the cuff button holes on so-called `convertible cuff` shirts. For removal, the head and keeper are compressed and then relatively turned 90 degrees angularly of the shank.
