  • Patent number: 7217050
Abstract: Before embossing raised letters on a target tape which is subjected to embossing of raised letters, written letters are printed based on inputted character information, and also an upside-and-downside identifying information for identifying the upside and the downside of the target tape as seen in the widthwise direction thereof is printed on the target tape. In the emboss-processing section, the upside and the downside of the target tape is detected based on the identifying information. If the target tape is found to have been inserted upside down, the raised letters are embossed in a state of turning the embossing data by 180 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20060292319
Abstract: A printing tape has a print-recording layer having a recording surface on a face thereof, and a transparent pseudo-laminating layer adhered to a back of the print-recording layer. The pseudo-laminating layer has a laminating adhesive-agent layer on a face thereof and a transparent tape layer on a back thereof, and is so arrange that the pseudo-laminating layer is reversed for adhesion to the face of the print-recording layer, thereby serving as a laminating tape for the recording surface. This printing tape is thus capable of laminating the print surface, after printing, with the printing tape itself.

  • Patent number: 7112000
Abstract: There is provided a method of controlling a tape processing apparatus where braille is embossed at one side in the width direction of a tape with an embossing unit arranged at the one side. The method includes: an embossing-position defining step of defining a braille embossing position in the width direction of the tape; an embossing-data generating step of generating embossing data based on input information and the embossing position; and a braille embossing step of embossing braille on the tape based on the generated embossing data. In the embossing-data generating step, when the embossing position is arranged at one side in the width direction on the same side as the embossing unit, the embossing data is generated for forward embossing. While, when the embossing position is arranged at the other side in the width direction opposite to the embossing unit, the embossing data is generated for reverse embossing.

  • Publication number: 20060210347
Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus that applies a clip-out process of clipping out a desired character from a process sheet that configures a cutting sheet with a peeling sheet attached on a rear side, and a printing process of printing a pattern to a clip-out region of a clipping as a result of the clip-out process. The sheet processing apparatus includes: a clip-out device that clips out the character from the process sheet of the cutting sheet while feeding the cutting sheet in a direction opposite to normal based on the character; and a printing device that prints a pattern to the clip-out region of the character that is clipped out from the process sheet. In the sheet processing apparatus, the printing device prints the pattern to make the pattern go beyond a cutting line of the character.

  • Patent number: 7038794
Abstract: An image forming device defines a reference line count, determines whether or not the number of lines of basic character strings to be formed which is arranged in an edit image forming memory area exceeds in number any of one or more n-th predetermined line counts, and calculates an n-th post-omission line count for notifying omission of lines from each n-th predetermined line count which the number of characters strings is determined to exceed by inserting an n-th predetermined line overflow notifying character string indicative of an excess in line count over each n-th predetermined line count between an end of a line of the basic character strings immediately before the count of lines of the basic character strings exceeds the n-th post omission line count and a head of the following line.

  • Patent number: 7021844
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a connection interface which connects the printing apparatus to a peripheral device such as a host computer. A connection object of the connection interface is detected, and a print mode is set to a normal print mode or a demonstration print mode. In the normal print mode, printing is performed based on print data received from the host computer, depending on the detected connection object. In the demonstration print mode, printing is performed based on demonstration print data which is stored in advance. The print mode is set to the normal print mode when the connection object is the host computer and to the demonstration print mode when the connection object is not the host computer or when there is no connection object.

  • Publication number: 20060008608
Abstract: A printing tape has a translucent recording-tape layer with a recording surface on a face thereof, and a translucent pseudo-laminating layer adhered to a back of the recording-tape layer. The pseudo-laminating layer has an adhesive-agent layer on a face thereof and a translucent tape layer on a back thereof. The recording-tape layer has a print-recording piece whose face serves as a printing region and a cut-off piece to be peeled off from the adhesive-agent layer. The print-recording piece is separated from the cut-off piece by a long-side cutting line formed in a longitudinal direction of the recording surface. By inverting both the recording-tape layer and the pseudo-laminating layer inside out for adhering to an object of adhesion after removing the cut-off piece, the pseudo-laminating layer serves as a laminate tape for the recording surface.

  • Publication number: 20040212813
Abstract: A printer specifies at least one arbitrary option out of a plurality of options displayed on a display screen as a tentative option, determines the tentative option as a determined option (determinate option), and performs printing based on the determinate option. When a handling explanation is requested before the determination, display is switched to display of the handling explanation from option display. A user can therefore easily and quickly view the handling explanation at once during operations.
