  • Publication number: 20100297976
Abstract: An alternate adjacent channel interference (AACI) filter is integrated into an intermediate frequency (IF) channel select filter to filter received RF signals. The IF channel select filter is an IF staged structure comprising successive IF stages. Each of the successive IF stages is a 2-biquad integrator. The AACI filter is integrated into the first IF stage of the IF channel select filter by re-using circuit components such as an operational amplifier, an input resistor, and a shunt capacitor of the first IF stage. The shunt capacitor is coupled between a middle point of the input resistor and ground. The AACI filter is realized via different equivalent implementations of the re-used circuit components of the first IF stage. A value of the shunt capacitor of the AACI filter becomes a fixed-value when a value the input resistor is inversely proportional to the bandwidth of the AACI filter.

  • Patent number: 7840198
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for processing signals in a high performance receive chain may include amplifying radio frequency signals in amplifier chains in a multistandard radio frequency front-end, comprising one or more shared processing stages, and combining, with substantially equal gain, a number of phase-shifted radio frequency signals of the radio frequency signals into substantially equal-gain-combined radio frequency signals. The substantially equal-gain-combined radio frequency signals may be demodulated to obtain inphase channels and quadrature channels. A number of inphase channels and quadrature channels may be processed in I-channel processing blocks and Q-channel processing blocks to generate an output analog baseband signal. The multistandard radio frequency front-end may be capable of processing Bluetooth® signals and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) signals.

  • Patent number: 7834707
Abstract: A charge pump provides charge based on a phase difference between a reference signal and a feedback signal. The relationship between the charge and the phase difference is referred to as the charge phase relationship. Charge pumps typically have a non-linear charge phase relationship. A non-linear portion of the charge phase relationship occurs about a point at which the charge and the phase difference are substantially zero. Points along charge phase relationship that represent the performance of charge pump are referred to as the charge phase characteristic of the charge pump. The charge pump includes an offset current circuit, which biases the charge pump to have a linear charge phase characteristic. For example, the charge pump is biased to have a charge phase characteristic that does not overlap with the non-linear portion of the charge phase relationship.

  • Patent number: 7599677
Abstract: A charge pump circuit that supplies current to an offset current of an output signal for an oscillating circuit is disclosed. The charge pump circuit includes a first switch and a second switch. The first switch is coupled to a gate of an output diode that provides a charge up current from the charge pump circuit. A second switch is coupled to an anode of the output diode and supplies the charge up current to the output diode. The first switch comprises a first state and the second switch comprises a second state that is opposite the first state. Thus, when the second switch is on, the first switch is off. The charge pump circuit also includes a capacitance to hold a bias voltage when the first switch is off.

  • Patent number: 7590387
Abstract: Methods and systems for calibrating a frequency of a circuit are disclosed herein and may comprise dividing a feedback frequency of an output frequency signal to generate a divided frequency signal. Open loop calibration may be performed based on a binary search of the generated divided frequency signal to generate a coarse calibrated frequency signal. Subsequently, a closed loop calibration may be performed on the coarse calibrated frequency signal to generate a fine calibrated frequency signal. A binary code may be generated utilizing the binary search of the generated divided frequency signal. Capacitance within the circuit may be adjusted based on the generated binary code. A control voltage for the circuit may be measured by closing a phase locked loop (PLL) with the circuit. If the measured control voltage is not within a determined voltage range, a calibration flag signal may be generated.

  • Patent number: 7464290
Abstract: A method for managing a data storage system is provided. The data storage system includes a primary storage device and a spare storage device. The primary storage device includes a plurality of sections. The method first judges whether the primary storage device conforms to a first standard. Once the judging result is NO, the primary storage device is replaced with the spare storage device. The method then scans the primary storage device, checks which sections are failed in the primary storage device, and locates the failed sections. Then, the method repairs the failed sections that can be repaired and judges whether the primary storage device conforms to a second standard. If the primary storage device conforms to the second standard, the method sets the primary storage device as a new spare storage device.
