Abstract: A method and an apparatus for managing personal health are provided. A gateway capable of communicating with a health device and a non-health device sets up a communication link with a communication device according to a first communication protocol, and determines whether the health device. When the communication device is determined as a health device, the gateway executes a health security algorithm which provides a higher level of security than a security of a security algorithm applied to the first communication protocol, and communicates with the health device by using the health security algorithm.

Abstract: A terminal communicating with at least one wireless communication device determines whether a first data is received from the at least one wireless communication device in a first mode, in which power is supplied to a display portion, determines whether a second data is received during a first time period from the time when the first data is received, and switches to a second mode in which the power supplied to the display portion is blocked according to whether the second data is received.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a connection to a local area wireless communication network on the basis of a communication environment by means of a wireless terminal device are provided. To this end, the wireless terminal device collects information regarding a neighboring base station that constitutes a public communication network by means of a cell search, and determines whether it is possible to connect to a local area communication network on the basis of the collected information regarding the neighboring base station. If it is determined to be possible to connect to a local area communication network, the wireless terminal device makes an attempt to connect to a pre-registered wireless connection device on the basis of the collected information regarding the neighboring base station.

Abstract: A broadband wireless communication system is provided. A sending apparatus in the broadband wireless communication system includes a controller for distributing packets to a plurality of processors to transmit the packets in a multi-Frequency Allocation (FA) access mode; the plurality of the processors for processing the packet provided from the controller in a Media Access Control (MAC) layer; and a plurality of senders for encoding the packets provided from the corresponding processors in a physical layer and transmitting a signal generated through the physical layer encoding.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing a voice call service in a Circuit Switching (CS) domain to a User Equipment (UE) being in a Packet Switching (PS) domain in a mobile communication system. A first message for paging to provide the voice call service in the CS domain to the UE is sent to an evolved Node B (eNB) in the PS domain. A second message including a cause associated with a domain change from the PS domain to the CS domain, is received from the eNB. A third message requesting suspension of the service being provided to the UE in the PS domain, is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.

Abstract: A system is provided that provides a voice call service over a Circuit Switching (CS) domain to a User Equipment (UE) that was receiving a service in a Packet Switching (PS) domain. A Mobile Management Entity (MME) sends a paging message to the UE to provide a service in the CS domain. The MME sends a suspend request message requesting suspension of the service being provided to the UE in the PS domain, upon receiving a report message indicating that the UE has switched to the CS domain. A gateway suspends the service in the PS domain upon receiving the suspend request message from the MME.

Abstract: A method for controlling access between home devices and servers in a home network system is provided. The method includes determining whether first access of the home devices to each of the servers and second access of the servers to each of the home devices is restricted, and controlling the first access and second access based on respective access rights established according to the determination.

Abstract: A method for forwarding direct message in partial function OFDMA relay system is proposed in present invention. In present invention, the operations like forwarding and reflecting are fixed for the PFRS. Therefore, the BS performs scheduling according to the fixed operations so as to make the PFRS actually has the function of direct message forwarding.

Abstract: A communication system and data transmission method thereof are provided. The method includes adding an end marker to the end of source data and transmitting the source data and the end marker for a Packet data network GateWay (PGW) to a source evolved Node B (eNB) if a handover is carried out from the source eNB to a target eNB while the PGW is transmitting the source data to the source eNB, forwarding the source data and the end marker from the source eNB to the target eNB, transmitting target data immediately following the source data from the PGW to the target eNB, and transmitting the source data and the target data, which is classified into the source data by the end marker and immediately follows the end of the source data, from the target eNB to user equipment.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling an amount of light in a visible light communication system are provided. In the visible light communication system, a terminal measures an amount of light for a light signal received from a sensor, determines whether the measured amount of light is less than a threshold value, increases an amount of light for a light source signal to transmit to the sensor when the measured amount of light is less than the threshold value, and transmits, to the sensor, a light source signal according to the increased amount of light.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for selectively using a frame structure adequate for a system environment in a multihop relay wireless communication system are provided. The method includes generating a control signal including the frame information; and transmitting the control signal to a child Relay Station (RS). Accordingly, the frame structure adequate for the system environment can be used, and the transmission delay and the tradeoff between the overheads in each frame structure can be freely selected.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing health data through a user terminal are provided. The method includes inputting a user terminal number for identifying the user terminal, and information of a medical instrument for measuring the health data to a management server interworked with the user terminal, receiving, by a receiver, a security type table mapped onto the user terminal number and comprising a security type code for instructing the health data which the medical instrument has measured to be stored in a first memory without security or in a second memory with security, from the management server, and storing the health data in the first memory or the second memory, which the security type code instructs, through determining the security type code of the security type table when the health data is received from the medical instrument.

Abstract: A method and communication system for assigning the control authorization for controlling functions of a device from a terminal to another terminal in a communication system is provided. Through the method, it is possible to simplify the authentication process of a terminal having the communication function based on the short messaging service, and to reduce the security information size generated in the authentication process.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting control information to a Relay Station (RS) in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless communication system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a generator, a controller, and a communication unit. The generator generates control information to be transmitted to a lower RS. The controller controls and transmits the control information during a first relay link transmission interval among at least one relay link transmission interval distributed within a frame. The communication unit transmits the control information to the lower RS.

Abstract: An Internet Protocol (IP) address acquisition in a broadband wireless communication system is disclosed. A terminal includes a driver for loading one of a plurality Media Access Control (MAC) addresses for a multi-Frequency Allocation (FA) connection when the terminal is initialized; an interface for registering the loaded MAC address to use in an upper layer of a MAC layer; and a manager for acquiring an IP address using the registered MAC address when a network entry for at least one FA is complete.

Abstract: Data retransmission apparatus and method in a wireless relay communication system are provided. It is checked whether an Acknowledgement (ACK) message or a Negative ACK (NACK) message for data is received from a Relay Station (RS), which receives the data from a Mobile Station (MS). Scheduling information for transmitting the data is transmitted to the RS, when the ACK message is received from the RS. Errors are checked for in of the data, when the data is received from the RS. The RS is requested to retransmit the data, when the data has an error. Accordingly, since the RS retransmits only the error-free data to the BS, the BS can enhance the data reliability.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for sending a control information for retransmission in a multihop relay wireless communication system are provided. Data received from a lower node is checked for errors. The data is transmitted to an upper node, when the data has no errors. When two or more information, which include at least one of Acknowledgement (ACK) and Negative ACK (NACK) in response to a data reception are received from one or more lower nodes, the two or more information are transmitted to the upper node at the same time. Accordingly, the RS can transmit the control information for the ARQ provided from the lower nodes, to the upper node at the same time.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for data retransmission in a multihop relay wireless communication system are provided. The retransmission method includes determining whether an error is detected in data received from an upper node; generating a message indicative of the data error; and sending the message to the upper node at a time that is not appointed with the upper node. Therefore, it is possible to reduce a retransmission delay time that occurs during synchronous retransmission.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for supporting Quality of Service (QoS) in a wideband wireless communication system using multiple Frequency Allocations (FAs) are provided. In a transmitting method for packet distribution in the wideband wireless communication system, the method includes, during a network entry process, determining a number of FAs through multi-FA capability negotiation; distributing packets, received from a superordinate layer, through the multiple FAs; and transmitting the packets distributed through the multiple FAs. Accordingly, packets can be effectively distributed through multiple FAs, and QoS can be effectively provided.

Abstract: A handover method of a mobile station in a wireless mobile communication system and a system therefore are provided. The mobile station transmits a handover indication message to a serving base station, receives a ranging response message that comprises authentication information required for the mobile station to authenticate a target base station, receives fast ranging resources and transmits a ranging response acknowledgement (ACK) message, which comprises authentication information required for the target base station to authenticate the mobile station, to the target base station after receiving the fast ranging resources. Accordingly, a handover break time is minimized.
