Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing relay link zone information in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system, where a BS performs a network entry procedure with an RS during an initial access of the RS to the BS, generates a message including relay link zone information regarding a relay link zone in which the BS communicates with the RS, processes the message in a physical layer, and transmits the processed message to the RS.

Abstract: A method for allocating a band Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) channel in a wireless communication system that divides a full frequency band into a plurality of subcarrier bands and includes subchannels, each of which is a set of a predetermined number of neighbor subcarrier bands. Upon recognizing a need for a band AMC channel, a subscriber station (SS) sends a request for allocation of the band AMC channel to a base station (BS). Upon receiving the band AMC channel allocation request, the BS determines if it can allocate the band AMC channel requested by the SS, considering a resource situation of the BS, and transmits information on the determination to the SS.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting downlink schedule in a WiMax/WiBro relay system is proposed in present invention. In present invention, the task of transmitting the schedule is dispersed from the BS to both of the BS and RS so that several RS may transmit the schedule items simultaneously and therefore the resource of the system is saved.

Abstract: A scanning apparatus and method in a multi-hop relay Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system are provided. In the scanning method, a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) sends a scan request message requesting scanning to a Base Station (BS) via a Relay Station (RS). The BS sends a scan response message containing information for the scanning of the MSS to the MSS via the RS. The BS then sends a scan notify message indicating the scanning of the MSS to the RS.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for recognizing by a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) whether a serving Base Station (BS) retains connection information in a mobile communication system including the serving BS for providing a service to the MSS and a target BS adjacent to the serving BS. The method includes the steps of receiving a handover request message from the serving BS, the handover request message including a resource remain type field representing whether the connection information having been set with the serving BS is retained, and a resource retain time field representing a connection information-retaining time by the serving BS, and recognizing that the serving BS retains the connection information during a time determined by a value of the resource retain time field.

Abstract: A method for encoding a rate-compatible block Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code. The method includes designing specific LDPC codes for a predetermined number of coding rates, and generating a pruning pattern by comparing information node degrees of the predetermined number of LDPC codes; matching check node degrees of the predetermined number of LDPC codes; generating a predetermined number of puncturing patterns according to the check node degree when the matched check node degree is calculated; determining whether a first condition given for the generated puncturing patterns is satisfied; and determining the generated puncturing patterns as rate-compatible puncturing patterns when the puncturing patterns satisfy the first condition.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for supporting multiple links in a multi-hop relay cellular network using at least two frequency bands are provided. A subframe for a link on which a Mobile Station (MS) or a Relay Station (RS) communicates with a Base Station (BS) is configured in a first frequency band, and a subframe for a link on which the BS or the RS communicates with the MS is configured in a second frequency band.

Abstract: A method for forwarding direct message in partial function OFDMA relay system is proposed in present invention. In present invention, the operations like forwarding and reflecting are fixed for the PFRS. Therefore, the BS performs scheduling according to the fixed operations so as to make the PFRS actually has the function of direct message forwarding.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing a push service in a wireless communication system adopting an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme or an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) scheme are provided. The method includes when receiving a message from another network or another messaging server, transmitting, at a messaging server, a push service request message to a push server; when a Mobile Station (MS) of which the push service is requested using the push service request message of the messaging server, operates in an awake mode, transmitting, at the push server, a first push deliver message comprising a message designated for the MS, to a Base Station (BS), and when receiving the first push deliver message, transmitting, at the BS, a second push deliver message based on a Media Access Control (MAC) layer comprising the message designated for the MS, to the MS.

Abstract: Provided is a method for receiving a notification indicating a completion of a network re-entry procedure by a Base Station (BS) in a communication system. The method includes transmitting, to a Mobile Station (MS), a RaNGing ReSPonse (RNG-RSP) message including information indicating whether to omit any of processes or transmission of messages for performing a network re-entry procedure with the BS; and receiving, from the MS, a notification indicating the completion of the network re-entry procedure.

In the system, a mobile station (MS) completes the network re-entry procedure with a base station (BS), and then notifies the completion of the network re-entry procedure to the BS.

Abstract: A communication system and data transmission method thereof are provided. The method includes adding an end marker to the end of source data and transmitting the source data and the end marker for a Packet data network GateWay (PGW) to a source evolved Node B (eNB) if a handover is carried out from the source eNB to a target eNB while the PGW is transmitting the source data to the source eNB, forwarding the source data and the end marker from the source eNB to the target eNB, transmitting target data immediately following the source data from the PGW to the target eNB, and transmitting the source data and the target data, which is classified into the source data by the end marker and immediately follows the end of the source data, from the target eNB to user equipment.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for relaying neighbor BS in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless access (BWA) communication system are provided. In the BWA communication system, a BS transmits a neighbor BS advertisement message to a relay station (RS) within a cell area of the BS. The RS configures a relay neighbor BS advertisement message by eliminating unavailable neighbor BS information from the neighbor BS advertisement message, and broadcasts the relay neighbor BS advertisement message in a cell area of the RS.

Abstract: A method for allocating a channel quality information channel (CQICH) in a communication system is disclosed. After fast switching from a serving anchor base station (BS) to a target anchor BS, a mobile station (MS) detects absence of a CQICH allocated from the target anchor BS. Upon detecting the absence of the allocated CQICH, the MS sends a request for allocating the CQICH to the target anchor BS. Upon receiving the CQICH allocation request, the target anchor BS detects a need to allocate a CQICH to the MS.

A method for configuring the MOB_NBR-ADV message is also provided, and includes adding a specific field, which represents whether at least one information field constituting the MOB_NBR-ADV message exists, to the MOB_NBR-ADV message, determining if at least one information field is included in the MOB_NBR-ADV message, and determining a bit value of the specific field according to whether at least one information field is included in the MOB_NBR-ADV message.
