  • Patent number: 8313535
Abstract: A method for creating a hydrophobic effect of textiles in a washing machine. Hydrophobic agents dissolved in the washing liquid are contacted with the textiles during a treatment process. The tub is filled with an amount of water which is proportioned and which is heated to a minimum temperature in the tub while the textiles are soaked. The hydrophobic agent is flushed from the detergent storage chamber into the lye container by means of water and forms a washing liquid along with the water. The textiles are contacted with the washing liquid and are treated for a maximum of 30 minutes. The washing liquid is removed from the textiles and the washing liquid container by spin-drying without rinsing.

  • Patent number: 8220092
Abstract: A method to improve the cleansing effect on non-delicate washing which is to be washed in a washing machine comprising a washing drum. The washing drum is driven in at least one A phase (intensive wetting) and in at least one second B phase (high wash mechanics) within the washing and/or rinsing processes. Said phases are successive at least once during said washing and/or rinsing processes. In the A phase (intensive wetting), the washing drum accelerates in the first rotational direction (+) up to a rotational speed n1 which is significantly greater than the applicational rotational speed and in the other rotational direction (?) up to a second rotational speed n2 which is significantly less than the applicational speed. In the B phase (high wash mechanics), the washing drum accelerates in both rotational directions up to rotational speeds whereat the individual items of washing are highly spun and are rubbed against each other.

  • Publication number: 20120005842
Abstract: A method, for optimizing a rinsing phase in a washing machine includes introducing rinsing liquid in a last step of the rinsing phase into an outer tub of the washing machine. A sensor detects a presence of fabric softener in the rinsing liquid to produce a signal which is compared with a reference signal to determine the presence of fabric softener in the rinsing liquid. Rinsing is executed with water only in the absence of fabric softener, or with water and fabric softener in the presence of fabric softener, with a washing kinetics reduced by at least 15% when rinsing involves water and fabric softener and including a switch-on time, duration of a reversing cycle, and rotational speed of a drum of the outer tub. Switch-on time and rotational speed are hereby each reduced by at least 20% whereas duration of the reversing cycle is increased by at least 20%.

Abstract: A method for spin-drying textiles being subjected to a method for the production of a hydrophobic effect in a washing machine. Textiles located within the drum are brought into contact with hydrophobing substances dissolved in the washing liquid. The drum is accelerated for a first number of spin pulses to reach a speed in a first spinning block when the washing liquid is removed from the outer tub, the speed being below a critical speed of rotation. The drum is accelerated in a second spinning block for a second number of spin pulses to reach a speed that is above the critical speed of rotation. The drum is accelerated in a third and final spinning block for a third number of spinning pulses to reach a maximum speed of rotation that is compatible with the washing.
