  • Publication number: 20040255500
Abstract: A sign holder assembly formed by a support member attachable to a supporting surface such as a merchandise-receiving shelf, and a sign carried by the support member. The support member includes a backing member and a hingedly secured, latchable, cover. A cruciform-shaped slit extends through the cover and the sign includes one or more bendable tabs inserted through the slits to be captured in a pocket formed when the cover is latched so as to support a flag generally perpendicularly to the supporting surface. The assembly may be secured to the shelf by “push pins” or the like and an attaching element may integrally incorporate the push pins, may include slots through which the push pins may be engaged in the shelf apertures, may be relatively thin so the push pins may pierce the same, or may include any combination of one or more such securing elements.

  • Publication number: 20040226207
Abstract: A versatile label holder adapted to be stably secured in C-channels of various widths such as are found in Lozier, Madix and Streater shelves without significantly modifying the angle normally presented with each of these shelves. The label holder includes a rearwardly extending leg adapted to be captured by the lower lip of the C-channel, a portion of which is resilient and arcuate, extending first upwardly and then downwardly to provide a spring-like element, the effective length of which can vary depending on the spacing between the lips of the C-channel.

  • Publication number: 20040120750
Abstract: A label holder for use in a moist environment including a body panel connected at its lower edge by a resilient hinge to a transparent cover member to form an openable pocket for labels therebetween. The body panel is secured to a supporting surface by adhesive or may include an attachment panel connected to the rear of the body panel by a resilient spacer so that the attachment panel can be flexed for engagement in a C-channel. A downwardly and forwardly extending lip is formed on the top edge of the body panel and the top edge of the cover member is secured thereunder in the closed position of the cover member. A downwardly and forwardly extending ledge member is formed on the top edge of the cover member and extends beyond the lip member to a freely extending edge to dissipate moisture forming on the lip member. The mating side edges of the body panel may be sealed with strips of a resilient material to limit moisture from entering the label-receiving pocket.

  • Publication number: 20040055983
Abstract: A sign holder for attachment to a merchandise display shelf including a sign-receiving element and a mounting element in the form of an inverted, J-shaped, member with an elongated mounting panel and a short reverted portion at its upper end. The mounting panel may be engaged in the pocket of a label holder carried by said merchandise display shelf. Alternatively, the mounting panel may be engaged directly in a C-channel carried by a front lip on the merchandise display shelf or the front of a label holder having sign-receiving channels defined on the front face of its cover member. The reverted portion of the mounting element is connected to the sign-receiving element by a resilient connector such as a bead of flexible material to permit slight movement of the sign-receiving element in the event it is impacted when merchandise is placed on, or removed from, a lower shelf.

  • Patent number: 6688567
Abstract: A label holder or label/sign holder to be secured to a merchandise-supporting shelf devoid of a C-channel on its depending front lip. An adaptor element is secured to the supporting surface of the shelf as by push pins and has a forwardly extending portion defining a hook member engageable in a lip member defined at the upper edge of the body panel of the label holder without interfering with movement of a transparent cover member on the label holder to insert or remove labels from a pocket defined therebetween. Various embodiments of rearwardly extending flanges on the back of the body panel are adapted to secure the lower portions of the label holder to or around a rearwardly extending flange on the bottom of the shelf lip.

  • Patent number: 5249380
Abstract: An information tag holder for use on the screw-threaded neck of a gas cylinder is made from a plastic sheet which has at least two thread-engagement portions with cut-outs for frictionally engaging over the screw-threads, and a tag supporting surface between the thread-engagement portions. In use, the holder is folded transversely, so that the cut-outs in the respective portions are in register and the holder is applied in this manner to the cylinder. The respective thread-engagement portions are differently dimensioned so that when the cut-outs are in register, the tag supporting surface is inclined.

  • Patent number: 5235766
Abstract: A product information and display tag of plastic sheet material for a product support hook of the type having a proximal end bracket with upper and lower prongs which snap fit onto a flat horizontal support bar is herein disclosed. The tag has a mounting portion with a transverse slot which hooks over the upper prong of the bracket before it is fitted to the support bar, so that when the hook is fitted to the bar, the mounting portion is trapped between the bar and the bracket. Adjacent the mounting portion is an elongate portion of the tag which extends over the hook to its distal end and there is a turned-down label holder portion of the tag at the distal end of the hook for product information.

  • Patent number: 5123189
Abstract: A display tag, of sheet material, for use on a forwardly extending support hook is provided. It has a mounting portion on one end for securing it to the proximal end of a support hook, and an elongate portion adjacent the mounting portion for extending forwardly of the hook to present product information at a distal end of the elongate portion. The tag has one or more flaps or tabs which are die-cut therein and provided with bar receiving cut-outs for receiving a forwardly extending part of a support hook therein. In one embodiment, four tabs are provided on the mounting portion of the tag for receiving mutually perpendicular extending bars of a bi-directional wire rack therein. The bar receiving cut-outs in the tabs are circular or elongate in shape and stabilize the tag in the longitudinal direction on the support hook.

  • Patent number: 5042184
Abstract: A label holder for use on a slotted angle member is in the form of a substantially rectangular plastic sheet having half-moon shaped depressible tabs at its opposite side edges. In use the tabs are pushed through respective slots of the angle member and the arcuate edges promote squeezing and compression of the tabs in the slots. The tabs are twisted behind the slots to secure the holder against the angle member. The tabs are defined as cuts at the opposite sides of the holder.

  • Patent number: 5040316
Abstract: A product information and display tag for use with a horizontally extending product support hook, for presenting product information at a forward end of the hook has a rear part formed by a number of like mounting portions disposed end-to-end with tear lines therebetween. Each mounting portion is suitable for securing the tag to the proximal end of the hook. The tag can be used at its full length for longer hooks, or one or more of the mounting portions can be torn off to effectively reduce the length of the tag so that it can be used for shorter hooks.

  • Patent number: 4987692
Abstract: A product information display tag is particularly designed for presenting product information at the forward end of a product support hook of type having a proximal end mounting bracket in the form of a flat plate with prongs for snapping over a wire rod or transverse bar structure. The mounting portion of the tag is in the form of a fold-down panel with a central aperture for receiving the hook so that the panel can be positioned with its rear surface against the front surface of the plate. The panel has fold-back wings with contact adhesive thereon for folding back around the edges of the plate and adhesively securing against the rear surface of the plate. The panel may further have forwardly folding tabs for engaging and stabilizing the intermediate portion of the tag structure.

  • Patent number: 4917342
Abstract: A stand-up label or sign holder for use in supermarkets or bakeries is made of plastic sheet material and has a base panel at one end, a label or sign holder panel at its opposite end and an elongate stem connecting the panels. The base panel can be used to support the holder by folding the base panel at right angles to the stem so that the holder stands on the base panel with the stem extending upwardly toward the holder panel. The holder panel can be bent back toward the base panel to stabilize the holder. Also, the stem has lengthwise ribbing which promotes transverse bowing of the stem so as to resist lengthwise twisting or bending. The label or sign holder panel has tabs for retaining a sign or label. If the holder is made of transparent plastic, the sign or label is visible from both sides of the holder panel.
