  • Patent number: 4665639
Abstract: A product information display tag is particularly designed for use in combination with a product support hook structure of the gangbar type having elongate support hooks extending forwardly from a transverse bar which in use is support cantilever-wise from a perforated board. The tag has a mounting portion for attachment to the hook structure at a junction of a hook and the bar, and an elongate portion for extending lengthwise over the length of the hook. The mounting portion has a central aperture whereby the tag is slid along the hook from its distal end and the mounting portion is slit into a central tab and outer wing sections. The central tab engages against the front of the gangbar and the outer wing sections are twisted over the back of the bar. Portions of the wing sections are hinged forwardly so that their upper edges snugly grip the bar. The mounting portion provides secure stabilized attachment of the tag to the hook structure.

  • Patent number: 4646454
Abstract: A product information and identification tag for use in combination with an elongate product-suspension hook extending from a transverse rod at the back of the hook has a mounting portion particularly adapted to fit on the hook/rod assembly at the junction of the rod and hook, and an elongate intermediate portion for extending over the hook to display product information at the front of the hook. The mounting portion has a central section which can bend at right angles to the intermediate portion and tabs on opposite sides of the central section which can fold backwards or forwards with respect to the central section. The central section has a cut-out which receives the hook, and the tabs have hook formations which can resiliently grip the rod either from the front or from behind depending on which way the tabs are folded.

  • Patent number: 4564548
Abstract: A cover strip for at least the upper corner and front surface member of a display shelf is an integrally formed sheet of plastic having pre-formed fold lines extending widthwise. When deployed, the fold lines overlie respective right-angle corners formed by the forward facing edge of the shelf. In one embodiment the lower edge of the cover strip is folded to extend forwardly and upwardly about a flange member on the shelf to resiliently contact the underside of the shelf. The opposite end of the cover strip may include projections which extend through holes defined in the shelf to secure the cover strip in those holes. In an alternative embodiment, projections extend from opposite edges of the cover strip to engage respective holes in the support member and/or in a flange member disposed beneath the support member of the shelf, with yet another embodiment having locking tabs to overlie the rearmost edge of the flange member.

  • Patent number: 4546943
Abstract: An integral unit for suspending one or more apertured items for display forwardly of a display shelf is arranged to be secured to the shelf and, alternatively, to a hook which is secured to the shelf. The unit is an integral flexible plastic strip and includes a mounting portion which joins an item-supporting portion at a transversely extending fold line. The upper edge of the mounting portion includes an anchor adapted to be resiliently inserted and interlock in a hole in a display shelf so as to engage the shelf for purposes of mounting. A through hole in the mounting portion permits the strip to be suspended from a hook. One side of the mounting portion may be adhesively coated for a further alternative manner of securing the strip to the shelf. The item-supporting portion has one or more finger-like hook members defined by inverted U-shaped die-cuts in the strip. The finger-like hook members are vertically aligned to support the apertured items for display.

  • Patent number: 4539766
Abstract: A product identification tag is made of plastic and has one or more integrally-formed support portions projecting therefrom. In one embodiment, the support portion is slotted to receive J-hook or peg hook portions so as to be suspended from the hook, whereby an attached pressure-sensitive adhesively backed label is visible. The support portion and the label-supporting portion are joined by a narrow neck region whereby cut-away parts of the tag are disposed on opposite sides of the neck to provide alternative support means. Further, the label-supporting portion may be folded over to define a pocket into which the label can be inserted. In another embodiment, the support portions are flexible anchor arms which can be folded out of the tag plane, each arm including a distal end with wing-like projections that can be flexed to permit insertion of the wings in peg board holes or other apertures and unflexed so as to anchor against the back surface of a peg board or other structure.

  • Patent number: 4537821
Abstract: Accurate positioning of a portable coded data reader, such as is used for reading merchandise bar codes, is achieved by a plastic display tag having a guide ledge formed integrally with a display section in which the coded indicia are displayed. When the reader is slid along the ledge it is automatically positioned properly to read the coded indicia. The guide ledge is separated from the display section by a fold line which permits the ledge to be folded substantially perpendicular to the display section. A second guide ledge may also be provided to define a guide channel between the two ledges. Mounting projections are formed integrally with the tag and project from opposite sides of the display section to engage respective apertures in an apertured support structure.

  • Patent number: 4531313
Abstract: A product identification tag is fabricated from plastic and, in one embodiment, snap-fits onto a support member for a peg board hook without requiring removal of the hook from the peg board or the displayed merchandise from the hook. Support structure on the tag includes two holes spaced to correspond to the spacing between two legs in the hooked support member which are insertable into two peg board holes, respectively. Access channels are cut from a nearby mounting edge of the tag to the holes to permit the legs to be inserted into the respective holes only when portions of the tag which bound the access channels are flexed. In a second embodiment, using the same or a different form of tag mounting structure, the tag is secured adjacent a support wall, behind supported merchandise items, and projects forwardly alongside the supported merchandise items before terminating in a display section which is folded or bent to be disposed forwardly of the suspended merchandise.

  • Patent number: 4497464
Abstract: Apertured blister packs or the like are displayed by being suspended from beyond the edge of a shelf by means of an integrally-formed hook which attaches to the shelf. Attachment is either through apertures in the shelf or to a shelf price molding with the aid of a resilient member. When the hook is secured directly to the shelf, the resilient member is an elastic band which positionally biases the hook against the price molding. The hook may be attached instead to a resilient spring clip which is selectively resiliently engaged in the price molding. A projecting portion of the hook is a ring having a small annular gap which permits apertures of the blister packs to be placed on the ring and suspended therefrom for display purposes.

  • Patent number: 4483502
Abstract: An integral unit for suspending one or more apertured items for display forwardly of a display shelf is arranged to be secured to the forward edge of the shelf or, alternatively, to a hook which is secured to the shelf. The unit is made of flexible plastic and includes a tag-like mounting portion which has two spaced and aligned bottom support edges adapted to be supported on a support ledge at the shelf forward edge. If that forward edge is a standard price molding, the mounting portion can be resiliently engaged therein. An item-supporting portion extends from between the support edges and is flexible to be suspended forwardly thereof. The item-supporting portion has one or more finger-like hook members adapted to support the apertured items for display. In one embodiment, the hook members are reinforced by an arcuate cross-section which is more pronounced near the hook tip.

  • Patent number: 4476983
Abstract: Apertured blister packs or the like are displayed by being suspended from beyond the edge of a shelf by means of an integrally-formed hook which attaches to the shelf. Attachment is either through apertures in the shelf or to a shelf price molding with the aid of a flexible card which flexibly engages a portion of the hook between the card and the price molding. The projecting portion of the hook is a ring having a small annular gap which permits apertures of the blister packs to be placed on the ring and suspended therefrom for display.
