  • Patent number: 11422707
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing efficient memory accesses for a computing system are disclosed. A computing system includes one or more clients for processing applications. A memory controller transfers traffic between the memory controller and two channels, each connected to a memory device. A client sends a 64-byte memory request with an indication specifying that there are two 32-byte requests targeting non-contiguous data within a same page. The memory controller generates two addresses, and sends a single command and the two addresses to two channels to simultaneously access non-contiguous data in a same page.

  • Patent number: 11243774
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for dynamically selecting an OSC hazard avoidance mechanism are provided. Aspects include receiving a load instruction that is associated with an operand store compare (OSC) prediction. The OSC prediction is stored in an entry of an OSC history table (OHT) and includes a multiple dependencies indicator (MDI). Responsive to determining the MDI is in a first state, aspects include applying a first OSC hazard avoidance mechanism in relation to the load instruction. Responsive to determining that the load instruction is dependent on more than one store instruction, aspects include placing the MDI in a second state. The MDI being in the second state provides an indication to apply a second OSC hazard avoidance mechanism in relation to the load instruction.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for signal equalization are provided. Multiple decision components are arranged in a sequence, beginning with a history portion and ending with a decode portion. Each decision component performs a decode decision on a symbol. Decode decisions are passed forward to other decision components where they can be used to compensate for intersymbol interference. • Patent number: 10989522
Abstract: A glass product stress evaluation system is provided. The glass product stress evaluation system includes a background light source to selectively transmit light of different wavelengths and illuminates a glass product. An imaging device is mounted in proximity to the glass product and develops digitally encoded representations of internal annealing stresses formed within the glass product. The imaging device converts the digitally encoded internal stress representations into digital signals. A plurality of optical devices provides a converging view of the glass product. A plurality of filters is mounted in proximity to the plurality of optical devices and selectively transmits light of different wavelengths to the optical devices, thereby transforming detected imaged stresses in the glass product into visible colors. A processing unit receives the digital images from the imaging device and converts the digital images into visible images. The digital images can be classified into annealing grades.

  • Patent number: 10977040
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for heuristically invalidating non-useful entries in an array are provided. Aspects include receiving an instruction that is associated with an operand store compare (OSC) prediction for at least one of a store function and a load function. The OSC prediction is stored in an entry of an OSC history table (OHT). Aspects also include executing the instruction. Responsive to determining, based on the execution of the instruction, that data forwarding did not occur, aspects include incrementing a useless OSC prediction counter. Responsive to determining that the useless OSC prediction counter is equal to a predetermined value, aspects also include invalidating the entry of the OHT associated with the instruction.

  • Publication number: 20210096750
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing scheduling memory requests for issue to two different memory types are disclosed. A computing system includes one or more clients for processing applications. A heterogeneous memory channel within a memory controller transfers memory traffic between the memory controller and a memory bus connected to each of a first memory and a second memory different from the first memory. The memory controller determines a next given point in time that does not already have read response data scheduled to be driven on the memory bus. The memory controller determines whether there is time to schedule a first memory access command for accessing the first memory and a second memory access command for accessing the second memory. If there is sufficient time for each, then one of the access commands is selected based on weighted criteria.

  • Publication number: 20210056027
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for identifying response data arriving out-of-order from two different memory types are disclosed. A computing system includes one or more clients for processing applications. A memory channel transfers memory traffic between a memory controller and a memory bus connected to each of a first memory and a second memory different from the first memory. The memory controller determines a given point in time when read data is to be scheduled to arrive on the memory bus from memory. The memory controller associates a unique identifier with the given point in time. The memory controller identifies a given command associated with the arriving read data based on the given point in time.
