  • Publication number: 20220257298
Abstract: Devices and methods for treating conditions such as rhinitis are disclosed herein where a distal end of a probe shaft is introduced through the nasal cavity where the distal end has an end effector with a first configuration having a low-profile which is shaped to manipulate tissue within the nasal cavity. The distal end may be positioned into proximity of a nasal tissue region having at least one nasal nerve. Once suitably positioned, the distal end may be reconfigured from the first configuration to a second configuration which is shaped to contact and follow the nasal tissue region and the at least one nasal nerve may then be ablated via the distal end. Ablation may be performed using various mechanisms, such as cryotherapy, and optionally under direct visualization.

Abstract: In an example, a method for delivering an anesthetic agent to a target tissue in a nasal cavity of a patient includes inserting a cryotherapy device into the nasal cavity of the patient. The cryotherapy device includes a cryotherapy delivery feature and one or more protrusions. The method also includes positioning the cryotherapy delivery feature in contact with the target tissue, and delivering, using the cryotherapy delivery feature, a cryotherapy treatment to the target tissue. After inserting the cryotherapy device into the nasal cavity, the method includes actuating the one or more protrusions from a retracted state to an extended state. After actuating the one or more protrusions to the extended state, the method includes penetrating the target tissue with the one or more protrusions. • Publication number: 20220226000
Abstract: The present technology includes systems and methods for invasively adjusting implantable devices for selectively controlling fluid flow between a first body region and a second body region of a patient. For example, in many of the embodiments described herein, a catheter can be used to mechanically and/or electrically engage an implanted medical device. Once the catheter engages the medical device, the catheter can (i) increase a dimension associated with the medical device, such as through mechanical expansion forces, and/or (ii) decrease a dimension associated with the medical device, such as by heating a shape memory component of the medical device above a phase transition temperature.

  • Patent number: 11376028
Abstract: According to some embodiments, the present technology includes a device for the disruption and/or removal of obstructive material in a blood vessel. The device can comprise an elongated shaft having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a lumen extending therebetween. The device can further comprise a capture structure carried by the distal portion of the elongated shaft and having a greater cross-sectional dimension than a cross-sectional dimension of the elongated shaft. The capture structure can comprise an opening at a first end portion that is fluidly coupled to the lumen of the elongated shaft, a fluid impermeable sidewall enclosing an interior region, and an opening extending through a thickness of the sidewall. A portion of the sidewall surrounding the opening can be configured to deform towards or away from the interior region such that a cross-sectional dimension of the opening increases to receive the obstructive material therethrough.

  • Patent number: 11284612
Abstract: A system for controlling vegetation within a field may include an implement frame and a ground-engaging tool supported on the implement frame. The ground-engaging tool may, in turn, be configured to perform an agricultural operation on the field as the implement frame is moved across the field. Furthermore, the system may include an electrode supported on the implement frame. As such, when a plant within the field contacts the electrode as the implement frame is moved across the field, an electric current is discharged from the electrode into the plant.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for treating and monitoring conditions such as rhinitis are disclosed herein. The technology utilizes ultrasound scans to identify target treatment sites, and monitor the treatment of a patient undergoing a treatment. The treatment may be an ablation treatment of a nasal nerve, for example the PNN for the treatment of nasal conditions, such as rhinitis. The ultrasound scans are performed within the nasal cavity with an ultrasound probe or a combined ultrasound and ablation probe and may use Doppler, A-mode, B-mode, M-mode or other ultrasound and non-ultrasound modalities to detect and monitor the target treatment sites.

  • Publication number: 20210369320
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods involve ablation of tissue to treat rhinitis and/or other nasal conditions. Implementations allow treatment of tissue in the confined space of the nasal cavity. Additionally, implementations allow targeted treatment tissue to be ablated, while protecting other non-treatment tissue from unintentional collateral effects that might be produced by the ablation. According to an example implementation, an approach for treating a nasal condition includes advancing a probe into a nasal cavity, the probe including a shaft and a cryotherapy element coupled to the shaft. The approach also includes cryogenically cooling a target treatment site with the cryotherapy element to treat at least one nasal nerve. Additionally, the approach includes transmitting a focused ultrasound beam to a target heating site to increase a temperature tissue at the target heating site.

  • Patent number: 11176830
Abstract: A vehicle location tracking system comprises a plurality of transceivers, a coordinator, and a plurality of identification tags. The plurality of identification tags are coupled to a fleet of vehicles to be tracked. The transceivers measure the strength of a signal emitted by an identification tag coupled to a vehicle and communicate the measured signal strength to the coordinator. The indoor vehicle location tracking system estimates the location of the vehicle based on the measured signal strength.
