  • Publication number: 20120004811
Abstract: A method and a control device for triggering passenger protection means for a vehicle are provided, at least one sensor signal from an accident sensor system being provided by an interface. Furthermore, at least two characteristics are generated from the sensor signal, which are mapped onto one single value range. The triggering of the passenger protection means occurs as a function of the at least two mapped characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20110245435
Abstract: A process for continuously preparing copolyamides from lactams and salts of diamines and dicarboxylic acids, in which lactams together with salts of diamines and dicarboxylic acids are passed from the top downward through a vertical polymerization tube at polyamide-forming temperatures, which comprises a) intensively mixing an aqueous solution of lactams with salts of diamines and dicarboxylic acids under elevated pressure which is greater than the vapor pressure of the mixture which arises in a mixing apparatus at a temperature of from 80 to 300° C., b) feeding the mixture thus obtained to a heated helical tube evaporator in which a liquid phase and a vapor phase form at a temperature of from 140 to 300° C.

  • Publication number: 20110092645
Abstract: A continuous process for the multistage drying and postcondensation of polyamide pellets in the solid phase comprises 1) carrying out the predrying process in a continuous drying apparatus which is operated in countercurrent mode or in crossflow mode with inert gas or steam, or with a mixture of inert gas and steam, using a pellet temperature in the range from 70 to 200° C., and 2) Carrying out the subsequent continuous postcondensation process in a separate vertical duct with moving bed at a pellet temperature in the range from 120 to 210° C., where the duct is operated in countercurrent mode with inert gas or steam, or with a mixture of inert gas and steam, the inert gas is introduced at least two sites along the duct, and from 15 to 90% of the inert gas is introduced at the base of the vertical duct and from 10 to 85% of the inert gas is introduced in the upper half below the surface of the pellets.

  • Patent number: 7897077
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for pelletizing polymer melts, at above ambient pressure, in a pelletizing chamber into which a cutting apparatus has been inserted. In a first step, the pelletizing chamber is flooded with a gas which is inert toward the polymer melt and whose pressure is that at which the pelletizing process is carried out. The polymer melt is then injected into the pelletizing chamber. Finally, the gas is displaced from the pelletizing chamber via a liquid as soon as the polymer melt begins to flow through the cutting apparatus, this melt being cut into pellets.
