Patent number: 8739087Abstract: In the process of designing an integrated circuit (IC), it is often the case that a functional description is converted into multiplexers. In some cases it would be more efficient to combine two or more multiplexers into a larger multiplexer to identify potential design problems in the original register transfer level (RTL). Such early detection can prevent routing congestion problem that would be too expensive to fix later. A large multiplexer is defined as a multiplexer having a number of inputs and control signals that is above a predetermined threshold. When such a multiplexing functionality is detected that function may be replaced in the circuit with a large multiplexer that would be a more efficient implementation. Accordingly the circuit is checked for existence of multiplexing functions, and merging, when possible, of such multiplexing functions to achieve the ability to instantiate the multiplexing functionality with a large multiplexer.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2013Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: Atrenta, Inc.Inventors: Tien-Chien Lee, Saurabh Verma, Satrajit Pal, Chandra Manglani, Jitendra Kumar, Mohammad H. Patent number: 8577626Abstract: Methods and systems for assessing fluid dynamics aspects of corrosion and shear stress in piping networks are provided. Shear stress hot spots of a piping network may be identified using non-dimensional transfer functions that have been developed for identifying the magnitude and location of these local maxima depending upon the geometrical parameters of commonly used components of piping networks, the fluid properties of the flow, and the operating conditions of the piping network. Upon identification of potential shear stress local maxima, piping network operators may monitor these locations for corrosion or other damage to prevent loss of integrity of the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2008Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Jitendra Kumar Gupta, Muralidharan Lakshmipathy, Yatin Tayalia

Patent number: 8127100Abstract: A system and method of buffer management may employ a common data structure that is recognizable by both hardware and firmware. In some implementations, hardware register settings may be programmed independent of firmware updates to an internal sub-segment description table maintained in an ASIC or other buffer manager logic. Implementation of such a common data structure in external memory may substantially reduce hardware real estate and complexity of a buffer manager ASIC by minimizing the number of required registers and eliminating the need for an internal sub-segment descriptor table. In addition, by eliminating the internal sub-segment descriptor table and allowing buffer manager logic to recognize a common data structure in external memory, the number of buffer sub-segments recognized by the buffer manager may be readily expanded, and may be limited only by the size of the external memory.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2008Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Marvell International LtdInventors: Jitendra Kumar Swarnkar, Vincent Wong, Jing Booth, Jie Du
