  • Publication number: 20110125709
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for bookkeeping of download stamps are described herein. An embodiment includes augmenting database table (or mobile business object) metadata with a synchronization (“sync”) key and assigning a unique identifier to each sync key. A sync key is assigned to one or more rows (or records) in the database table and a download timestamp is associated with each sync key. The embodiment further includes identifying a sync key associated with each row in the database table. Links between rows occurring in different database tables are maintained using sync keys. In this way, embodiments of the invention allow a server to record a download timestamp of database table subsets, where such subsets may include one or more rows in the database tables. This allows data to be downloaded by a client at subset granularity.

  • Publication number: 20100023276
Abstract: Methods and systems for assessing fluid dynamics aspects of corrosion and shear stress in piping networks are provided. Shear stress hot spots of a piping network may be identified using non-dimensional transfer functions that have been developed for identifying the magnitude and location of these local maxima depending upon the geometrical parameters of commonly used components of piping networks, the fluid properties of the flow, and the operating conditions of the piping network. Upon identification of potential shear stress local maxima, piping network operators may monitor these locations for corrosion or other damage to prevent loss of integrity of the pipes.

  • Patent number: 7461544
Abstract: A method of detecting water induction in a steam turbine that may include the steps of: measuring the temperature of one of the steam lines of the steam turbine at regular intervals; recording the temperature measurements; and determining, from the recorded temperature measurements, whether there has been a sharp decrease followed by a gradual rise in the temperature of the steam line. The method further may include the steps of calculating the rate of change of the decrease in temperature of the steam line and the rate of change of the increase in temperature of the steam line. The sharp decrease followed by a gradual rise in the temperature of the steam line may include a decrease in temperature followed by an increase in temperature wherein the rate of change of the decrease in temperature exceeds the rate of change of the rise in temperature.
