  • Publication number: 20150199055
Abstract: Embodiments for constructing capacitance sensing devices include, but are not limited to, forming a plurality of electrodes on a central portion of a substrate, the substrate comprising a central portion and an outer portion, forming a first plurality of conductors on the substrate, each of the first plurality of conductors being connected to and extending from at least one of the plurality of electrodes, and forming an insulating material on the outer portion of the substrate and at least partially over some of the first plurality of conductors. The constructing also includes forming a second plurality of conductors on the insulating material, wherein the second plurality of conductors and the insulating material are configured such that each of the second plurality of conductors is electrically connected to at least some of the first plurality of conductors and is insulated from the others of the first plurality of conductors.

  • Patent number: 8982893
Abstract: A system, method, and node providing a predefined Quality of Service (QoS) level to an Over The Top (OTT) service provider in a telecommunications network. A User Equipment (UE) initiates an IP-based application session (e.g., Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) session) with the OTT service provider by sending an application-dependent message toward an OTT application server. The method begins with a proxy node in the telecommunications network intercepting the application-dependent message. The proxy node then modifies the application-dependent message by adding a subscriber identification to the header of the application-dependent message. The proxy node forwards the modified application-dependent message to the OTT application server. The OTT application server then sends a request having the subscriber identification to the telecommunications network with a QoS requirement for the HTTP session. Next, a network policy node determines an appropriate QoS level for the subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20150027289
Abstract: A device for punching and scoring a medium includes a punch tool and a grooved score guide. The punch tool has a cutter configured to cut an edge of a sheet of the medium. The positioning edge is disposed on the device and configured to guide an edge of the medium and position the medium with respect to the punch tool. The grooved score guide is formed in the device and configured to match a scoring tool to create a score line in the medium. The arrangement between the punch tool and positioning edge is configured to cut a notch in the edge of the medium at a notch point. The grooved score line is disposed in relationship to the punch tool to create the score line in the medium from the notch point across the medium.

  • Patent number: 8907958
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing rendering of subsections of screen space receives render commands associated with different screen subsections, such as from a command buffer populated by a coprocessor, and determines which screen section is currently being rendered by a rendering engine, or stated another way, which screen section the host processor wishes to have rendered, and evaluates screen subsection data that is associated with a received rendering command. The screen subsection data identifies a screen subsection for which the command refers. The method includes executing the command if it is determined that the command refers to a current screen section being rendered.

  • Publication number: 20140053493
Abstract: A cementitious, convex structural block for forming parabolic walls is disclosed. The block utilizes a key and the keyway to facilitate placement and to add strength to the wall. The parabolic shape of the wall increases its compressive strength and when used underground as a seal or stopping in mining applications channels force from blast waves and dammed water into the mine shaft ribs. When constructed from a geopolymer, the block is lighter and has a smaller carbon footprint than cement.

  • Publication number: 20130103767
Abstract: Feedback is provided to sources of information entities regarding subsequent utilization of those entities, thereby providing a measure of control through feedback loops that can include incentives or disincentives for specific tasks performed on entities, or tasks performed by specific services. An entity source, including intermediate sources and original authors of a cohesive collection of information that is an “entity”, provide those entities together with a return message template and an interface to which a return message is to be directed when a subsequent task is performed on that entity. Intermediate services, such as user agents, can add their own return message templates and interfaces to which return messages are to be directed. Subsequent performance of tasks on those entities comprises the creation and transmission of return messages to the interfaces specified and transmitted with the entity, thereby enabling prior systems to maintain logs of the utilization of an entity.

  • Patent number: 8411137
Abstract: A dual projection system utilizes a first projector and a second projector to project alternating left and right channel images of a 3D display. The projectors are inversely synchronized such that while the first projector projects a right channel image the other projector projects a left channel image. A projection filter in each projector has left channel properties when the image being projected is a left channel image and right channel properties when the image being projected is a right channel image. The images projected from each projector alternate between left and right channel images approximately once per frame.

  • Publication number: 20110313859
Abstract: Techniques to provide geo-targeted advertising are described. A technique may include displaying a map to an advertiser at a first zoom level. The advertiser may stay at the first zoom level or change to a second zoom level. The advertiser may also create a user-defined area of the map. The advertiser may select an advertising campaign, and the advertising system may associate the selected advertising campaign with the user-defined area and the selected zoom level. The advertising system may then provide the selected advertising campaign for display in a mapping application operating on a client device when the user-defined area and the selected zoom level are viewed in the mapping application. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20110258047
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining advertisement relevance based on time and spatial relationships or reachable locations may include determining a set of advertisements, a set of destination locations corresponding to the advertisements, a starting location, a starting time, and a desired arrival time. A particular destination location may be identified as reachable if a projected arrival time occurs prior to or at the desired arrival time. Reachable destination locations may be distinguished from unreachable destination locations on a user interface by at least one of presenting reachability indicators, differentiating presentations or appearances of indications corresponding to reachable locations and/or of corresponding advertisements, ordering location indications and/or advertisements by reachability relevance, omitting unreachable destination locations and/or corresponding advertisements from being presented on the user interface, or other actions.
