  • Publication number: 20110155688
Abstract: Non-removable finish and closure finish system that resists rotational movement so as to be rendered substantially non-removable by the consumer. The closure and finish have complementary thread segments with ratchet-type engaging portions or lugs extending below thread segments on the finish and closure, the closure lugs being disposed on an inner skirt spaced radially inwardly from an outer skirt to inhibit access to the interlocking lugs.

  • Publication number: 20090294447
Abstract: The present dispensing closure system includes a closure base, which can be configured for securement to an associated container, and a lid hingedly connected to the closure base for movement between closed and open positions, wherein in the closed position of the lid, the lid coacts to close and seal a dispensing orifice defined by the closure base. Convenient manipulation of the lid between its closed and open positions is facilitated by the provision of a sliding element mounted on the closure base for sliding, reciprocable movement generally laterally of the closure base. Notably, the sliding element includes a latch portion which coacts with the lid to positively retain the lid in its closed position until manipulation of the sliding element by a user to unlatch the lid. The sliding element includes one or more camming surfaces which coact with the lid to urge it from its closed position to its open position.

  • Publication number: 20090242564
Abstract: A dispensing closure system is provided for a container that has an opening to the container interior. The preferred embodiment of the system includes a closure having a closure body for extending from the container at the container opening and a lid hingedly attached to the closure body. The closure body has a dispensing spout, and the lid includes a hollow spud for entering the spout. A spud rim can be provided on the spud, extending inwardly towards the hollow interior of the spud. A lid rim can additionally or alternatively be provided on the inside surface of the lid, positioned within the hollow interior of the spud.

  • Patent number: 7533785
Abstract: A dispenser is provided for dispensing tablets. The dispenser generally includes a housing and a compartment. The compartment is pivotable with respect to the housing between a dispensing position and a non-dispensing position. The dispenser may also include a biasing member to bias the compartment to the non-dispensing position and a rib to resist accidental pivoting of the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20090084814
Abstract: A dispensing closure system is provided for a container that has an opening wherein a membrane is interposed between the container opening and the dispensing closure system. The system includes a body for extending from the container at the opening. The system includes a movable spout that (1) has a dispensing opening at one end, (2) has a piercing edge at the other end, and (3) is mounted in the body for pivoting the movement between (a) a non-dispensing position in which the piercing edge is above the membrane to locate the spout dispensing opening at a first, non-dispensing location, and (b) a dispensing position in which (i) the piercing edge can pierce the membrane, and (ii) the spout projects outwardly from the body to locate the spout dispensing opening at a location that is further outwardly than the non-dispensing location of the spout dispensing opening.

  • Publication number: 20090050648
Abstract: A dispensing closure system is provided for a container that has an opening wherein a membrane is interposed between the container opening and the dispensing closure system. The system includes a base for extending from the container at the opening. The base has a receiving passage and an annular sealing flange extending radially inwardly around the passage. A movable spout is mounted in the base receiving passage and has a grippable discharge end that projects axially outwardly from the base receiving passage. The spout has a dispensing passage extending through the spout and has a peripheral sealing surface that is sealingly engaged with the base annular sealing flange. The spout also has a piercing element at an axially inward end of the spout. A cam track is located in either the base or the spout. A cam follower is located on the other one of the base and spout, and the cam follower is engaged in the cam track.

  • Publication number: 20070278254
Abstract: A dispensing structure is provided for a container that has an opening from which a product can be dispensed. The structure includes a body for extending around the container opening. The body defines an upper deck and also defines a recessed lower deck defining at least a portion of a first dispensing aperture communicating with the container opening. An intermediate member defines at least one second dispensing aperture that is smaller than the first dispensing aperture. The intermediate member is pivotable about an axis between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the intermediate member has a top surface that is preferably generally flush with the upper surface of the upper deck. A lid is pivotable on the closure body about a different axis and can be closed to occlude the second dispensing aperture.
