Publication number: 20230278308Abstract: A pleated filter preparation system is provided for accurately counting pleats along a continuous sheet of pleated filter material and cutting the sheet into filter strips to be formed into filters. The pleated filter preparation system includes a pleat driver having multiple drive gears that engage with the pleats of the pleated filter material to move the pleated filter material through the system. A pleat counter counts peaks and valleys of each pleat comprising the pleated filter material so as to identify a target pleat to be cut. The pleat counter clamps and stretches the target pleat to distinguish the target pleat among the other pleats. A punch cut station cuts the target pleat to form a filter strip having a desired number of pleats. A pleat compressor compresses the filter strips to a predetermined size and then ejects the filter strips into a suitable container or bin.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Applicant: K&N Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Jonathan Richard Fiello

Publication number: 20230279794Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided for a high capacity oil filter configured to remove contaminants from engine oil flowing within an internal combustion engine. The oil filter comprises a hollow canister having a length and a diameter suitable for housing a large filtration medium. A base gasket forms a fluid-tight seal between the oil filter and the engine. A base plate circulates oil from the engine through the oil filter. An anti-drainback valve prevents oil from draining out of the filter and passages within the engine when the engine is not operating. A key aspect of the present disclosure is that the relatively large dimensions and the configuration of the filtration media provide a large surface area for entrapping contaminants flowing with the engine oil.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Applicant: K&N Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Steve Williams, Jonathan Richard Fiello, Gilbert Heck

Patent number: 11671914Abstract: Power management for remote units in a wireless distribution system. Power can be managed for a remote unit configured to power modules and devices that may require more power to operate than power available to the remote unit. For example, the remote unit may be configured to include power-consuming remote unit modules to provide communication services. As another example, the remote unit may be configured to provide power through powered ports in the remote unit to power-consuming devices. Depending on the configuration of the remote unit, the power-consuming remote unit modules and/or power-consuming devices may demand more power than is available at the remote unit. In this instance, the power available at the remote unit can be distributed to the power-consuming modules and devices based on the priority of services desired to be provided by the remote unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2021Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: Corning Optical Communications LLCInventors: Christian Heidler, Jonathan Richard Hull, Jessica Joy Kedziora, Michael Sauer, Wolfgang Gottfried Tobias Schweiker
