The apparatus and method easily search for content and play back the searched contents based on items in a mobile communication terminal. The method includes displaying classification items, which are hierarchically associated with each other, in response to a request for displaying a contents list, selecting one of the classification items, and, if the selected classification item has a sub-hierarchy associated therewith, displaying detail items corresponding to the sub-hierarchy, or if the selected classification item is the lowest hierarchy, displaying all contents in the selected classification item. A method for executing an audio file including at least one track associated with a cover image includes displaying a first cover image associated with a track that is playing and displaying a first track list on the first cover image in response to a first key input signal, the first track list listing tracks associated with the first cover image. The portable device implemented with the file execution method and system of the present invention enables a track list to be displayed together with a cover image shared by a set of tracks listed on the track list, thereby expediting execution of files.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for sharing a DRM file between portable terminals. The method includes selecting a DRM file stored in a memory by a transmitting terminal, extracting license information from the DRM file by the transmitting terminal, transmitting the license information to a receiving terminal by the transmitting terminal, checking if the receiving terminal acquires a license by the transmitting terminal, externally receiving the DRM file corresponding to the license by the receiving terminal, and reproducing the DRM file in synchronization with the receiving terminal by the transmitting terminal.

Abstract: A method and system for displaying digital broadcast signals are disclosed. The method displays a broadcast signal, transmitted from a portable terminal having a digital broadcast receiver, on an external device having a decoding unit. When the external device transmits a digital broadcast playback request and selected channel information, the portable terminal controls the digital broadcast receiver to select a broadcast channel according to the selected channel information, demultiplexes a broadcast signal of the selected broadcast channel, and transmits the demodulated broadcast signal. The external device classifies the demodulated broadcast signal as audio, video, and broadcast information, decodes the classified signals and plays them back.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for changing channels of a digital broadcasting receiver, and more particularly, a method and apparatus for reducing a channel change time by previously receiving and buffering digital broadcasting signals of a plurality of channels continuously adjacent to one side of a main channel in a channel change direction. Although a receiver uses a different language from that used by the transmitter, the mobile terminal can create and transmit a message based on the language used by the receiver by means of language information stored in the mobile terminal, so that the receiver may easily confirm a received message.

A character agent system of the present invention includes a memory for storing a plurality of character quotients, information on at least one state transition model, and resources for presenting the character; a character controller for updating the character quotients according to events occurred in the mobile phone, determining a state by analyzing the character quotients and referring to the state transition model, and formatting the state using the resources assigned for the state of the character; and a display for presenting the character with the resources in the state.
