Abstract: A mobile communication system supporting an MBMS service includes a Node B having a plurality of transport channels and at least one UE communicating with the Node B. The Node B selects a transport channel for MBMS control information among a plurality of transport channels mapped to a secondary common control physical channel; transmits a system information block indicating the selected transport channel to a cell area where UEs are located, using a primary common control physical channel; and transmits the MBMS control information to the cell area using the selected transport channel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for calculating a location of a User Equipment (UE) that is roaming, the method comprising establishing a positioning session with a Home Location Platform (HLP) by using a location request message including specific identifier information of an area in which the UE is located, and positioning capability information including a positioning scheme supported by the UE, and exchanging positioning information with the HLP to calculate a position of the UE, wherein the position of the UE is determined by the HLP using the exchanged positioning information and approximate coordinate information transmitted from a Visiting Location Platform (VLP) to the HLP. According to such a method, it is possible to efficiently perform the positioning of the UE, regardless of the location of the UE, thereby improving the quality of the positioning service.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling a talk time for a PoC user is provided, capable of freely extending and using the talk time according to whether there is a floor requester or a priority when a talker obtains a floor during PoC communication. The method includes determining whether a talk limit time of a PoC client that is transferring a talk burst is close at hand; when the talk time limit is close at hand, determining whether or not a floor requester who makes a request for a floor is in a floor list for storing the floor requester; and when the floor requester is not in the floor list, extending the talk time and transferring the talk burst.

Abstract: A method determines a heading angle of a user terminal in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system. The method includes examining whether a rotation of a user is detected, upon detecting the rotation, attaining a movement direction vector at a time when the rotation is detected, and attaining the heading angle by using the movement direction vector at the time when the rotation is detected.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for selecting a location platform for a user equipment to roam and a method for determining the location of the user equipment using the same. The method for selecting a location platform includes: checking a visiting network of the UE in response to a location request message transmitted from the UE which is roaming; and selecting a location platform to calculate a location of the UE by comparing positioning capability information of the checked visiting network and positioning capability information of a home network of the UE. According to such a method, it is possible to efficiently perform the positioning of the UE, regardless of the location of the UE, thereby improving the quality of the positioning service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing location information of a User Equipment (UE) in a communication system including the UE, a Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) Location Center (SLC), and a SUPL Positioning Center (SPC). The method includes receiving, by the SLC, a request for the location information of the UE from a requester; notifying, by the SLC, the UE that the location information has been requested; transmitting, by the SLC to the SPC, a pseudo IDentifier (ID) for securing a connection between the SPC and the SLC; receiving, by the SLC from the SPC, the location information of the UE with the pseudo ID, the location information of the UE being calculated by the SPC, based on a positioning measurement measured by the UE; and transmitting, by the SLC, the location information to the requester.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining a location of a UE by means of AGPS information. The method includes generating by an SLC a pseudo UE ID according to a request for location information of the UE, the pseudo UE ID being used for maintaining security in communication with an SPC, requesting AGPS information for the UE, the location information of which has been requested, to the SPC by means of the pseudo UE ID, and receiving the AGPS information, transferring the received AGPS information to the UE, and receiving GPS signal measurement values using the AGPS information from the UE, requesting a location calculation of the UE for the GPS signal measurement values to the SPC by means of the pseudo UE ID, and receiving calculated location values, and providing the location information of the UE by means of the received location values of the UE.

Abstract: A method for locating mobile terminals is provided. First, information of a home Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) of a target mobile terminal, the location of which is to be determined, is checked in response to a location service request from a client. Then, information of a visited PLMN, where the target mobile terminal is currently located, is checked based on the checked information of the home PLMN. The home PLMN calculates location assistance information of the visited PLMN using specific location information of the visited PLMN. The location assistance information is transferred to the target mobile terminal. This allows location information of a mobile terminal to be obtained irrespective of the area or communication network where the mobile terminal is located. It is thus possible to locate a mobile terminal in an area where no location assistance information is provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for informing a plurality of terminals receiving the same Mobile Broadcast (BCAST) service of an upcoming event such as a BCAST service change in a BCAST system are provided. When receiving a notice of a notification event related to a BCAST service or an Service Guide (SG), a BCAST Subscription Management (SM), including a Notification Generation Function (NTG), creates a notification message about the notification event and sends it to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (SD/A). The BCAST SD/A sends the notification message to one terminal or a group of terminals through a Broadcast Distribution System (BDS) or an interaction network.

Abstract: A method establishes a PoC multimedia session for making a PoC multimedia call according to a support attribute of a PoC terminal and sets media for each session. In the method, a message for setting a session management server to split arbitrary PoC user terminals according to an attribute of media to establish the session is transmitted from the arbitrary PoC user terminals to the session management server. An INVITE message according to the media attribute is transmitted from the session management server to each of the terminals based on the setting.

Abstract: A method and system for dividing a signal push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) group session are provided. The method includes requesting, at a PoC client, session division to a participating PoC function (PF) of a PoC server that manages a PoC session to which the PoC client belongs; requesting, at the PF of the PoC server, the session division to a controlling PoC function (CF) of a PoC server; transmitting, at the CF of the PoC server, information necessary for a new PoC session to at least one PoC client that desires to participate in the new PoC session while requesting the session division; and connecting, at the PoC client which is to participate in the new PoC session, to a CF of a PoC server which manages the new PoC session through a CF of an existing PoC server to thereby participate in the new PoC session.

Abstract: A method for locating mobile terminals is provided. First, information of a home Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) of a target mobile terminal, the location of which is to be determined, is checked in response to a location service request from a client. Then, information of a visited PLMN, where the target mobile terminal is currently located, is checked based on the checked information of the home PLMN. The home PLMN calculates location assistance information of the visited PLMN using specific location information of the visited PLMN. The location assistance information is transferred to the target mobile terminal. This allows location information of a mobile terminal to be obtained irrespective of the area or communication network where the mobile terminal is located. It is thus possible to locate a mobile terminal in an area where no location assistance information is provided.

The method includes transmitting, by an arbitrary PoC user, a message for replacing a terminal from a user terminal to a session management server while maintaining the session; receiving, by the session management server, the replacement request message, and transmitting an INVITE message to a terminal to be replaced, or a target terminal; and receiving, by the target terminal, the INVITE message, and media through an existing session. In a situation where there is a need to replace the PoC terminal according to change of the media for the PoC call, request of mobility, etc.
