  • Publication number: 20060142037
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for establishing a session for a Push to Talk (PTT) over Cellular call (PoC). In the method, when an answer (response) mode of a PoC server and a PoC client are not in accordance with each other, an error message is transmitted to the receiving PoC server Moreover, call processing for a PoC call is improved by inserting a new data field indicating an automatic answer of a server into a payload of a Real-time Transport Protocol (RTCP) message, and a function of the terminal is extended using an added data field when the answer modes of the corresponding PoC server and PoC client are not in accordance with each other.

  • Patent number: 7054633
Abstract: A radio network controller (RNC) transmits a power offset for controlling transmission power of an uplink high-speed dedicated physical control channel (HS-DPCCH) when a user equipment (UE) enters a handover region, in a mobile communication system including the RNC, a Node B connected to the RNC, and the UE located in one of at least two cell areas occupied by the Node B. The Node B transmits data to the UE over a high-speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) and the UE transmits information indicating reception of the data to the Node B over the uplink HS-DPCCH. The RNC informs the UE of a power offset for determining a transmission power increment of the uplink HS-DPCCH, if it is determined that the UE is located in the handover region. The RNC informs the Node B of the power offset so that the Node B can determine a threshold value for determining information indicating reception of the data, depending on the power offset.

  • Publication number: 20060084454
Abstract: A call processing system and method based on an answer mode of a Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) user are provided. A data format is defined, which inserts an indicator indicating a manual answer override into a payload of a Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP) in a format of a new data field. When a PoC communication requester instructs the MAO to perform PoC communication regardless of an answer mode of a reception side PoC user, an auto-answer mode is immediately executed without any procedure of checking the instruction. In addition, when the reception side PoC user establishes an early session with a home PoC server in its own PoC terminal, the call processing can be performed at a quicker speed.

  • Publication number: 20060035656
Abstract: A method for performing session merging between PoC sessions under the environment of multiple PoC sessions is provided. A merging PoC client sends a request for the session merging with a merged session to a PoC server managing a merging session to which the PoC client belongs. The PoC server managing the merging session sends a session merge request to a PoC server managing the merged session. Negotiation of a CF (Controlling PoC Function) for managing a session to be merged is performed between the PoC server of the merging session and the PoC server of the merged session. When an entire CF of the session to be merged is selected as the negotiation between the PoC servers is completed, the PoC server of the merged session sends an UPDATE message of modified media parameters to a PoC client of the merged session.

  • Publication number: 20040037224
Abstract: An apparatus for retransmitting data using hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) in a mobile communication system. A radio network controller (RNC) determines maximum waiting time for retransmission of the data, and transmits the determined maximum waiting time to a Node B and a user equipment (UE). The Node B (a) receives the maximum waiting time and transmitting the data to the UE; (b) upon detecting a retransmission request for the data from the UE, retransmits the data and sets the maximum waiting time; and (c) upon detecting a second retransmission request for the data due to abnormal receipt of the retransmitted data from the UE after a lapse of the maximum waiting time, prevents retransmission of the data. The UE (a) receives the maximum waiting time; (b) if an error exists in data received from the Node B, transmits a retransmission request for the data to the Node B and sets the maximum waiting time; and (c) waits for the retransmitted data only for the maximum waiting time.

  • Publication number: 20040022218
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service between an RNC and a Node B in a mobile communication system including multiple UEs, the Node B having multiple cells, and the RNC for controlling the Node B. The RNC transmits a request message including first information that can be determined according to services and second information that can be determined according to cells, to the Node B in order to support the MBMS service. The Node B generates a service context for providing an MBMS service according to the first information and the second information of the request message, and allocates identification information of the service context. The Node B sets up a transport bearer to the Node B according to the first information in the service context, and then, if the MBMS service data is received from the RNC over the transport bearer, transmits the received MBMS data to the respective cells so that the UEs receive the MBMS data.
