  • Publication number: 20220192211
Abstract: A chiller bath includes a tank for holding a volume of chiller water; a dosing system for dosing a first solution and a second solution into the chiller water, arranged to create a plurality of zones within the volume of water, wherein each zone has a higher concentration of either the first or the second solution than surrounding portions of the volume of water; and a meat or poultry immersion arrangement for immersing and moving carcasses in the chiller water. A method for reducing bacterial load on meat or poultry includes generating a plurality of zones within a chiller bath containing water by dosing a source of alkalinity and antimicrobial into the water, wherein the plurality of zones comprises at least one alkaline zone with a pH above 8.5, and at least one antimicrobial zone with pH below 8.5; and submersing meat or poultry in the bath. The zones can also be generated using spray nozzles in a meat or poultry operation.

  • Publication number: 20220176970
Abstract: A wellness diagnostic platform installed on a vehicle to identify potential passengers with evident symptoms of a contagious illness is described. The wellness diagnostic platform includes a wellness monitoring unit and a boarding confirmation unit. The wellness monitoring unit includes a camera and/or one or more thermal sensors. The camera may capture physical characteristics of the potential passenger to determine health and the thermal sensors can measure a temperature of the potential passenger prior to boarding the vehicle. The boarding confirmation unit is configured to receive at least a display object identifying a diagnostic result computed by the wellness monitoring unit that the potential passenger is (i) advised to board the vehicle when a temperature of the potential passenger is equal to or below a prescribed temperature threshold or (ii) advised to refrain from boarding the vehicle when the temperature of the potential passenger exceeds prescribed temperature threshold.

  • Publication number: 20220116207
Abstract: Disclosed is an orthogonal access control system based on cryptographic operations provided by multi-hop proxy re-encryption (PRE) that strictly enforces only authorized access to data by groups of users, scalable to large numbers of users. Scalable delegation of decryption authority can be shared with a plurality of members of a group whether those members be users or devices, and members of a group can further create sub groups and delegate decryption authority to those members, whether users or devices. Members are granted access via generation of transform keys, and membership or access can be revoked merely be deleting the transform key—no elimination of the encrypted data, regardless of its storage location, is needed.

  • Publication number: 20220096922
Abstract: A keyboard with a thumb-operable control button on the front surface is disclosed. In one embodiment, the keyboard comprises an upper surface, a lower surface, a front surface, a back surface, a left surface, and a right surface. A plurality of keys disposed on the upper surface of the housing includes alphanumeric and non-alphanumeric keys arranged into rows and a thumb-operable spacebar arranged below the alphanumeric keys and non-alphanumeric keys. A thumb-operable control button is disposed on the front surface of the housing, the thumb-operable control button configured to be depressed at an angle of depression perpendicular to the front surface, and wherein the thumb-operable control button is independently and selectively configured to perform a function identical to a function of one of the alphanumeric keys or the non-alphanumeric keys when depressed. This arrangement can greatly improve both functionality and accessibility to certain keys on the upper surface of housing.

  • Publication number: 20220060515
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to improving user responses to cyber security threats. A computing platform may generate a test communication to simulate a potential cyber threat activity. Then, the computing platform may send, via the communication interface, the test communication to a user device associated with a target user. Then, the computing platform may receive, via the communication interface and from the user device, a response to the test communication. Subsequently, the computing platform may determine, based on the response, a threat awareness level for the target user, where the threat awareness level is indicative of a susceptibility of the target user to the potential cyber threat activity. Then, the computing platform may send, to the target user and based on the threat awareness level, an alert notification to counter the cyber threat activity.

  • Publication number: 20210344768
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate a computer system detecting an unusual activity event from activity data and sending a two-way notification message to a wireless device when a user has opt-in for a mobile application. The two-way push notification message is received at a wireless device and notification information is displayed at the wireless device outside the mobile application. The user selects one of the displayed action buttons to indicate whether the unusual activity event is valid or invalid. When a response to the computer system indicates that the unusual activity is valid, the computer system clears the inquiry and sends a subsequent push notification message to the wireless device informing the user. When the response indicates that the unusual activity is invalid, the computer system and the wireless device may establish an interaction through the mobile application in order to resolve the unusual activity event.

  • Patent number: 11156926
Abstract: An actuator for an optic mount in a vacuum environment includes a bellows around an actuator compartment. The bellows provides a seal around the actuator. A filter assembly is positioned between the actuator compartment and an interior of a vacuum chamber. The filter assembly includes a first particle filter, a second particle filter, and a purifier medium between the first particle filter and the second particle filter. Vacuum conditions in the actuator compartment can be achieved with a pump for the vacuum chamber, but particles and contaminants from the actuator or actuator compartment are captured by the filter assembly.

  • Publication number: 20210303554
Abstract: A distribution server restructures content and information published to a topic tree for more efficient and meaningful presentation to a subscribing client. To do so, the distribution server receives a request to create a topic view from a client and creates the topic view in response. The topic view includes a set of selected topics and a topic view mapping. The topic view mapping maps the topic paths for the set of selected topics to a set of reference topics at a set of reference paths. In other words, the topic view restructures the content and information by creating new branches in the topic tree. Whenever a selected topic receives an update from a publisher, the distribution server publishes the update as restructured content and information to the reference topics at the reference paths. A client subscribed to the reference path receives the update in a restructured manner.

  • Patent number: 10794826
Abstract: A calibration material may be used to calibrate an optical sensor to help ensure that the optical sensor produces accurate measurements. In some examples, the calibration material may be used to calibrate both turbidity measurements made by an optical sensor and fluorometric measurements made by the same optical sensor. The calibration material may be an aqueous mixture that includes water in an amount greater than 70 percent by weight of the composition, inorganic, water-insoluble, light-scattering particles, and a viscosity modifier in an amount effective to maintain the inorganic, water-insoluble, light-scattering particles in suspension in the composition. The composition can be non-fluorescing when exposed to ultraviolet light. In addition, in some applications, the composition is formulated of food safe ingredients, allowing the composition to be used in facilities that process consumable foods and beverages.

  • Patent number: 10666738
Abstract: To represent the indirect lifecycle binding between the validity of data for a given topic, and the presence of sessions responsible for updating the data associated with that topic, sessions may register a policy referred to herein as a “session will” against specific nodes in the topic tree maintained by a data distribution system server. A session will binds the lifecycle of the topic node to that of the registering session. When a session that is responsible for updating a particular topic is disconnected, the data distribution system server initiates actions in accordance with the session will to determine how to manage updating the topic and the sub-topics in the topic path.
