  • Patent number: 10524967
Abstract: An orthopedic cast removal apparatus comprises a housing having a portion that can be gripped by an operator during use. A motor is located inside the housing. A blade is operatively connected to and driven by the motor via a drive mechanism, the blade defining a cutting edge having cutting teeth located thereon. The drive mechanism according to this aspect has a driven element with an axis of rotation substantially parallel to a surface of an orthopedic cast when it is cut. The blade is connected to the driven element at a connection point that moves periodically around the axis of rotation. As a result, the cutting edge of the blade engages material of the orthopedic cast in a galloping fashion.

  • Patent number: 10500475
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a spacer block for elevating a boot of a rider of a snowboard. Due to the elevation of the boot above the snowboard, the boot drag of the rider is reduced. The spacer block is installed between the snowboard and a binding system of the snowboard that secures the rider's feet to the snowboard. By adding the spacer between the snowboard and the binding system, the boots are now elevated above the snowboard, and the rider can make sharper, more angled turns without the toes or heel of their boot contacting the snow. While the application describes the spacer block to be used with a snowboard, the spacer block can be used with boards for other recreational activities where boot drag is a problem. For example, the spacer block can be used with boards for gliding on sand, or with boards for rolling on ground.

  • Publication number: 20180316495
Abstract: Disclosed is an orthogonal access control system based on cryptographic operations provided by multi-hop proxy re-encryption (PRE) that strictly enforces only authorized access to data by groups of users, scalable to large numbers of users. Scalable delegation of decryption authority can be shared with a plurality of members of a group whether those members be users or devices, and members of a group can further create sub groups and delegate decryption authority to those members, whether users or devices. Members are granted access via generation of transform keys, and membership or access can be revoked merely be deleting the transform key—no elimination of the encrypted data, regardless of its storage location, is needed.

  • Publication number: 20180279635
Abstract: A chiller bath includes a tank for holding a volume of chiller water; a dosing system for dosing a first solution and a second solution into the chiller water, arranged to create a plurality of zones within the volume of water, wherein each zone has a higher concentration of either the first or the second solution than surrounding portions of the volume of water; and a meat or poultry immersion arrangement for immersing and moving carcasses in the chiller water. A method for reducing bacterial load on meat or poultry includes generating a plurality of zones within a chiller bath containing water by dosing a source of alkalinity and antimicrobial into the water, wherein the plurality of zones comprises at least one alkaline zone with a pH above 8.5, and at least one antimicrobial zone with pH below 8.5; and submersing meat or poultry in the bath. The zones can also be generated using spray nozzles in a meat or poultry operation.

  • Publication number: 20180275052
Abstract: A calibration material may be used to calibrate an optical sensor to help ensure that the optical sensor produces accurate measurements. In some examples, the calibration material may be used to calibrate both turbidity measurements made by an optical sensor and fluorometric measurements made by the same optical sensor. The calibration material may be an aqueous mixture that includes water in an amount greater than 70 percent by weight of the composition, inorganic, water-insoluble, light-scattering particles, and a viscosity modifier in an amount effective to maintain the inorganic, water-insoluble, light-scattering particles in suspension in the composition. The composition can be non-fluorescing when exposed to ultraviolet light. In addition, in some applications, the composition is formulated of food safe ingredients, allowing the composition to be used in facilities that process consumable foods and beverages.

  • Publication number: 20180255146
Abstract: To represent the indirect lifecycle binding between the validity of data for a given topic, and the presence of sessions responsible for updating the data associated with that topic, sessions may register a policy referred to herein as a “session will” against specific nodes in the topic tree maintained by a data distribution system server. A session will binds the lifecycle of the topic node to that of the registering session. When a session that is responsible for updating a particular topic is disconnected, the data distribution system server initiates actions in accordance with the session will to determine how to manage updating the topic and the sub-topics in the topic path.

  • Patent number: 10003558
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and computer program products provide for electronic mail (email) attachment hold and dispatch for security monitoring of email attachments. Specifically, embodiments of the invention provide for removing email attachments from emails containing such, holding the removed attachments in storage prior to delivering the email to the recipient and communicating the email to the intended recipient absent the attachment, but rather with a link or other means by which the email recipient can retrieve the attachment from the storage. Such a procedure not only allows for the attachment to be analyzed for threats prior to transferring the attachment to the email recipient, but also provides for a means by which information pertaining to the retrieval of the attachment is logged (e.g., who retrieved the attachment, from which computing device was the attachment retrieved, at what date and time was the attachment retrieved and the like).

  • Patent number: 9978031
Abstract: A systems and methods are described detect fraud in existing logs of raw data. There can be several disparate logs, each including data of disparate data types and generated by different and possibly unrelated software enterprise applications. The fraud management system aggregates and organizes the raw log data, extends the raw data with reference data, archives the data in a manner that facilitates efficient access and processing of the data, allows for investigation of potentially fraudulent usage scenarios, and uses the results of the investigation to identify patterns of data that correspond to correspond to high risk usage scenarios and/or process steps. In subsequent processing, archived data can be compared against the identified patterns corresponding to high risk usage scenarios to detect matches, and the invention thereby automatically detects high risk usage scenarios and issues appropriate alerts and reports.

  • Publication number: 20170093771
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and computer program products provide for analyzing/reading Internet message headers of emails to identify the source of the email and, in response to identifying the source, automatic grouping or clustering emails that have the same source, The grouping or cluster of emails may subsequently be investigated to determine if the emails pose a threat or are otherwise malicious. In specific embodiments of the invention the source of the email, along with other relevant grouping factors is use to further group/cluster emails. The other factors may include, but are not limited to, same subject of the email, same sender name, same sender email address, same links included in the email or the like. Additionally, embodiments of the present invention provide for automatically determining confidence scores for individual emails or groupings/clusters of emails based on the volume and/or type of suspicious indicators associated with the email or grouping of emails.
