Abstract: A pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) for a cryptographic processing system is disclosed in which the PRNG is reseeded at each instance of input entropy and in which a standard timestamp variable used in determining random sequence outputs is replaced with a running counter. The method employed by the PRNG demonstrates increased resistance to iterative-guessing attacks and chosen-input attacks than those of previous technologies. The PRNG is suitable for use in, for example, a mobile telephone system for accomplishing secure communications.

Abstract: The invention provides a therapeutical composition comprising purified fractions of compounds being or containing a pathogen-inhibiting oligosaccharide sequence for use as a medicament. The present invention especially describes an oligosaccharide-containing substance or receptor binding to diarrheagenic Escherichia coli and/or zoonotic Helicobacter species, and use thereof in, e.g., pharmaceutical, nutritional and other compositions for prophylaxis and treatment of conditions due to the presence of Escherichia coli and/or zoonotic Helicobacter species. Abstract: The invention concerns a method for diagnosing cancer in a biological sample by determining the presence of a LacdiNAc oligosaccharide sequence. The invention can be used for diagnostic agents, pharmaceutical compositions, cancer vaccines, and antigenic carbohydrate substances. The presence of cancer and malignancies is determined by contacting the biological sample with a reagent that binds to the oligosaccharide sequence. This same method can also be used in the treatment of cancer and malignancies.
